wildcatsarahj
Hello. My partner's son (age 9) was diagnosed with TS last week (which we had already suspected was coming), as I am sure most of you are/were, we are overwhelmed looking for solutions. The neurologist said either medication or hope he grows out of it, which I find unacceptable. He also said food and exercise have no impact (I can tell just by observation that isn't true). I have had friends who have successfully treated ADD etc. with elimination diets. I bought and read about half of the "Natural Treatments" book and found this site because of that. Our challenge is we can't convince his biological mother to change his diet (she thinks its "mean") and really need to find a good doctor in Norcal who is willing to explore/suggest some natural alternatives. We think she will listen if it comes from an expert. Allergy testing, environmental factors, diet, etc. Has anyone found someone good in the Bay area? We are beside ourselves, so any medical care guidance or referrals would be helpful. We really want someone cutting edge who knows that enivornment and diet can play a factor for some TS kids. Chemar
Hi I get so sad when I hear of doctors who ignorantly dismiss the importance of diet and the environment as triggers for tics, whether TS or other I found a previous thread re Bay area doctors http://latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14195 If you do a Google search for Environmental doctor Bay area as well as Integrative doctor Bay area you will get quite a lot of results Hopefully someone with experience from that area will also reply here all the best and I do hope the mother realizes the reality of tic triggers and agrees to really help this child! wildcatsarahj
