BeeRae22
I've posted several times lately regarding my 8 year old daughter. She is being treated for Pans/Pandas with antibiotics and has responded wonderfully, with the exception of her ocd/eating issue- We just heard back from the specialist's office and finally, we have something to go on--- to date, all of her bloodwork had come back normal until now. Elevated Mycoplasma pneumoniae IGG 5+ IGM 887 Anyone have knowledge or information about MycoP? I've seen it mentioned here and there on this board and in some other literature about pandas & pans, but now that I'm looking for it specifically, I can't seem to find much. I have a lot of questions, but the biggest question that comes to mind is this-- DD has been on Azithromiacin since January 14th. This bloodwork was taken on Febuary 22 & 25th. Wouldn't it be reasonable to assume that if Azith was going to knock this out, that it would've taken care of it by now?? Are the IGG and IGM levels considered to be extremely high, considering 1+ month post abx? I would really appreciate any Myco P input or experience anyone might have to offer!!! Thanks! Mommy2MCL
Mycoplasm is a very hard bacteria to get rid of. That is our trigger too. We had been on Zith for 6 weeks and it only lowered IgG and IgM 200 points. We haven't had a recent blood test. We found a really good combo on Zith and Augmentin but I know ladies have suggested stronger antibiotics to try too like biaxin or doxycycline. Mycoplasm is also a big Lyme trigger. We have not tested yet but will... And I know there are lots of Myco lyme experts on here that can make suggestions for you. Search My name... I have several Myco posts and you may find some answers and ideas to go from there.
Rachel
My son is currently on Bixan for Myco P. He started this two weeks ago. In December he was on Aztho for 8 weeks but I saw no improvements in symptoms and was switched to Bixan. I have not seen any major improvements yet but it can take as long as 3 months before improvements can be seen. I am pretty new to all this. Hopefully someone else can give you some more information. There are some old post on Myco P. This stuff is hard to get rid of. Dr. Garth Nickelson has done much research in the area and has a web site online with many articles about Myco P. I have learned a great deal from his web site and from this forum.
Hopeny
My dd has been on Abx for 15+ months and has super high myco levels. In reading lab 251 the government appears to have done experiments with ticks and mycoplasma for germ warfare at the same time which is why some hypothosize that myco became a Lyme co infection. From what I understand that does not occur in nature naturally. My personal theory on the verge of sounding paranoid is that my dd has this human engineered version of myco which we are unsuccessful eradicating to date. I believe gulf war syndrome is also caused by mycoplasma. I have no answers on how to get rid of it as we have not been successful to date. Dr b told me once cipro as a last resort but I am afraid to use it because of the tendon issues. Someone once posted a paper on myco and using iv abx. It had a lot of good information but I can't recall the poster or title. I'm interested in ideas on treating too
Mommy2MCL
OMG @hopeny... I thought I was being incredibly paranoid too. My dad was in Korea and had Agent Orange sprayed all over him. As a result he suffered 20 years worth of mini strokes until they left him disabled until he finally passed 4 years ago... Since reading that I wonder of the possibility of it being passed onto my daughter... There is some reading that suggests Myco was used in germ warfare way back then... I also read about the genetically engineered ticks too... Do you have a lyme diagnosis?
Rachel
Since we are on this topic I want to ask about Cinnamon Verum from Sri Lanka. This essential oil is supposed to eradicate several different things. Has anyone used it to help eradicate Mycoplasma? I will find the website and come back and post the article? After reading this article, I think I might try this but I would really like to have doctor's supervision. The article is called Essential Oil Research for Permanent Eradication of Lyme Disease and Coinfecrions. This article is 13 pages long and on the 11th page it tells what to expect. Let me go find the article and I'll post it. Ok. I found the website but it has been change around. On the first page of the website, go down to the last paragraph and click on the word here -that's highlighted in blue. It will take you to the article that I have in my hand now. The article has been shortened some but What to expect is near the end. This part of the article is what caught my attention. However, to do this one must be off all medications. See what you think. There is a lot of good information on this website. http://www.lyme-symptoms.com/Essential.oil.html Mycoplasma can be caused by many different things. If someone has been successful in getting rid of it with antibiotics, I would like to hear their story. Edited March 6, 2014 by rachel
sf_mom
I am in my 4th year of treatment for Lyme et al. Was highly positive for Mycoplasma. The combination of herbal remedies, combination antibiotics, immune support, detoxing with a rotation of therapies, alternative treatments and philosophies inclusive of ozone, hydrogen peroxide, EMF mitigation, Osteopathic, Homeopathic and Ayurveda medicine has brought my Mycoplasma titers within striking distance of normal. My Dr.'s are no longer concerned with the impact mycoplasma has on my immune system. I am currently off antibiotics. I do not believe any herb, combination of herbs, antibiotic, antibiotic combination, supplement or alternative treatment was independently the magic bullet to recovery. However, it was the rotation of these therapies that has brought a slow steady "saw tooth" recovery. Our children's body and myself were only able to heal so fast. I am still dealing with heavy metals (although greatly decreased), yeast/fungus/mold, IgM positive for EBV. There are some herbs specifically formulated for Mycoplasma which are very good like: Bryon White, A-Myco. http://byronwhiteformulas.com I would also recommend reading Stephen Buhner's book if you are interested in treating Mycoplasma with herbs. Dedee
I have two children who have been treated for Myco P for 3 years off and on. Trying not to be a conspiracy theorist here but this really is a very difficult bug to get rid of. Dr. Garth Nicholson is a great reference but also if you get the book Lyme Co-Infections by Bruhner, about half the book is on Mycoplasma. It's a great reference. My kids had to take two antibiotics for over a year in order to get their titers in the normal range. Then even after that, my son's titers elevated again about another year later. He had never gone off of antibiotics as we were treating him for Lyme. We just noticed that he was having increased anxiety and he was having bad depression so I asked them to run Myco titers again and sure enough his titers had doubles since we had checked them the year before. The LLMD is not sure what caused him to re-activate. This is a good example of how you can think you have gotten rid of the Myco but it will flare back up with no explanation. My daughter's IgM finally came to the normal range after about 2 years of combination antibiotics. Last check in December, her IgM is still normal. The IgG is still elevated. Still treating her for Lyme, bartonella, and anaplasma. Myco can be very dangerous. It should be treated very aggressively and titers should be checked every 6 months at least, even after you have completed therapy to make sure it hasn't re-activated. It has a very high re-activation rate. Especially in those treated for less than 9 months. Much depends on the persons immune system. Good luck all. nicklemama
Mycoplasma is responsible for Gulf War Syndrome. Its Mycoplasma fermentans. Its incredibly difficult to get rid of. Its been weaponized for biological warfare. Dr Garth Nicholson uncovered this and the gov't nearly ruined his career. Lost his job at a Texas University. Mycoplasma is also a lyme coinfection. Some speculate it occurs more often than any other coinfection. A doctor who worked on Plum Island supposedly has proof and certainly claims to have knowledge that the tick area of Plum Island was the testing location for weaponized mycoplasma. Its also speculated that the Dept of Defense was purposely infecting inmates in a Texas prison to test vaccines against mycoplasma and some other infections like brucellosis. Many of those inmates died. The ones that lived had rheumatoid arthritis, ALS and MS at very high rates compared to the general population and even in other inmate populations. I didn't used to believe in all those gov't conspiracies but I'm leaning toward the other side now.
Mommy2MCL
So is it feasible to think that my dad could have passed it down to me? And then I too my daughter? As I child I had walking pneumonia but no idea if it was Myco or how I was diagnosed. I can only assume it was. In December I had past Myco levels and my 5 yr old son had current, he ran a fever that week. We do not have PANDAS symptoms.
3bmom
I have only read a little on Dr. Garth Nicholson and that the military had bestowed on him one of their highest honor medals for his research and help to Gulf War Veterans in getting them well. I have wondered why he has disappeared from the scene. Makes sense they don't want a connection between infections and mental health. Would love to run a panel of titers on the 1 of 4 Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan who suffer from metal health issues. They have sacrificed so much and deserve an accurate health assessment and not have it swept under the rug of PTSD.
3bmom
Another note. My DS myco didn't budge till I started addressing my own titers that are sky high with no respiratory symptoms.
nicklemama
Dr Nicholson is off in California doing his research and whatever it is he does, lol. He got those honors after exposing the military. They tried to shut him up and denied Gulf War Syndrome for many years. My understanding is Dr Nicholson did not shut up and was eventually proved right and that's when he got his honors and veterans got treatment. Gulf War vets came home and passed Gulf War Syndrome (mycoplasma fermentans) to their families.
