pasquale61 Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 DS just finished 30 days of Biaxin and Augmentin for high strep titers. Will continue a maintenance dose of Biaxin. Dr now wants to do 10 days of anti-viral to treat Coxsackie. Is Coxsackie a known trigger. I guess that would have to do with high IGM numbers? Anyone have any experience with Coxsackies issues?
3bmom Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 We don't have coxsackie but others in my support group do. I was just put on an antiviral for shingles, (same as my DS for HHV-6) and had more energy and clarity then when I am not sick! I think it is worth a try.
pasquale61 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Report Posted February 9, 2014 Dr wants DS on a 10 day course of Valtrex along with maintenance dose of Biaxin. Also wants to continue probiotic. Tics still there after almost 30 days of ABX. I was so hopeful it would work. Maybe the coxsackie is the problem. Starting Valtrex in a few days. DS cant take pills so we have to use a compounding pharmacy. I feel like we are just guessing at what may work. I feel a bit helpless.
