Guest
I may have to travel back to NYC from florida......... I am really dreading this. Last 2 times I traveled by plane, I felt so bad, I was convinced I was dying, not in a fear panic attack way, the trip did something to my brain. I take every precaution, but it's not enough. Wheelchair, spanx, compression socks, klonopin, sunglasses, ear plugs, ipod. I have even gotten much sicker since being there a month ago and I remember vividly being on the planes as the pressure changed and getting deathlike fatigue. Does anyone know of any other ways to travel? Or any suggestions? I'm trying to find out if nearby cities (panama city or jacksonville) have flights straight to nyc, my city has a rink dink airport so 2 stops !!! PowPow
Amtrak? Sleeping cabin?
JoyBop
Can someone drive with you? Is was also going to suggest the train. Also, are the docs willing to work remotely and have the tests done in your local hospitals given the severity if your situation? It can't hurt to ask. philamom
We took two trips to Florida from Phila with Amtrak. Its long (20+hrs) - but both times we booked a sleeper car, and found the workers to be extremely nice and accommodating. When booking a sleeper car, it includes meals and drinks, and you have your own private toilet. Best of all (at least when we last did this 2 yrs ago), you can cancel up to three days in advance without penalty. That may have changed though. I do need my own toilet b/c of bladder issues. But it seems like I could rest whenever need be. The closest station is 3 hours away though (jacksonville). So we'd have to drive then catch the train. I am most concerned about getting the ivig and what if I'm too sick to return?
philamom
Could the doctor order the IVIG at home through a nursing service.
