grobes
Hello, we have a 9 yr old daughter and live in the greater Columbus, Ohio area. She began getting strep throat a long while back but in kindergarten or 1st grade she developed horrible head jerking, eye twitching, brow creasing and involuntary sounds like throat clearing, squeaking and grunting...all at different times. The motions and sounds change each time. She seemed to be ok over the summer with no signs but as soon as school started this year and same last year, the tics began again. She doesn't have strep throat but once the immune system is compromised with this virus, from what I believe I learned, it just lies dormant in the body and different stimuli trigger it. I have learned that there is a therapy called NAET and it looks pretty amazing by the fact that with this technique, the specialist can go right to the root of the cause to find out whats causing this to happen. I read on a blog here that another 9 year old boy had the same conditions as my daughter and NAET cured him. Any thoughts to this? Thanks!
Chemar
Hi there are some posts on our TS forum regarding NAET but I have not heard of it being a "cure" for tics per se...only a helpful tx for some However, if your child has a strep history, you may want to be investigating the possibility of PANDAS/PANS? We have a special forum for that here
jph
There is something called theallergykit.com that is based on naet, but you buy the kit and do it at home. There's a money back refund, though it isn't expensive to begin with (coming from a mom who paid $95/tx in the office for something similar until I found this). Anyway, there's a PANDAS vial that you can use after completing the initial 7 or so vials. I did the vials on my son, and then bought the PANDAS vial. It didn't do anything for him, but then again I don't think strep is his trigger. The initial vials were highly effective though.
