my2sons
Thinking of starting my son on Candida Clear by Now. We did some yeast eradication (via RX) about 6 weeks ago and saw some improvement in tics and ADHD symptoms. But, he has since been on an antibiotic for an ear/throat infection and I noticed an increase in tics a few days after starting the antibiotic (nothing dramatic, but definetly a noticeable increase.) He does take a really good probiotic but I am concerned the antibiotic could have undone any progess we made with our previous yeast treatment. I have some of the RX left - for a reason he has yet to reveal, our Doctor gave us 4x's as much Rx as he initially prescribed - but I have since read some negative stuff about the RX (Nizoral) and prefer to use something more natural. I have heard good things about Candida Clear. The bottle says it is for Adult use only. Can someone advise how much I should give ds (9) and how frequent? He weighs 86 lbs. Can anyone advise what I am to expect with it and anything to look for? How long will it take before seeing positive results if any? How long should he take it? Chemar
Hi My son was 11 when he first used Candida Clear and he was fine with it, but we did use it under supervision of his integrative doctor. As with all anti-fungals for candida, it is best used in combination with a good diet, designed to starve the candida "yeast" . We used The Yeast Syndrome book by Walker & Trowbridge as a dietary basis though we did not follow it in the exact phases they recommend. great recipes in the book as well as so much info on candida You should always be prepared for die off aka herxing as when the candida dies, it releases toxins which can exacerbate things for a bit. We minimzed die off by using detox remedies, epsom salts baths and excellent acupuncture, Chinese cupping and other detox aids.
my2sons
How do you know when it is herxing or a negative reaction to a new supplement? I started the candida clear yesterday and tonight ds has a new, persistent vocal tic. He usually only has one persistent vocal and a few infrequent, brief vocal tics we rarely see/hear. Tonight he started with what sounds like a snake hissing/ spitting sound that was persistent. This was about 2 1/2 hours after giving him the Candida Clear. He began flipping back and forth between the hissing sound and the loud "ah" sound with a laugh thrown in here and there. Not anything he has done before. Is this what i can expect from the herxing? Or could it be a reactoon to someting in the supplement?
Chemar
It depends on whether he is allergic or reactive to any of the ingredients in the supplement. With Candida and due to die off, the symptoms can definitely get much worse before they start getting better. That is the pattern with herxing. http://www.thecandidadiet.com/candida-die-off.htm
