JenniferG
My moms MP numbers have been rising. Now Dr. B's office is recommending treatment. She has CHF, DM, HTN...and lives with us. Macrolides, Minocin and Cipro are all contraindicated with heart issues. Now what? My dd9 has been in an exacerbation for 9 months.
rowingmom
Do you want to investigate herbals? I think Raintree has one.
Dedee
It depends on the degree of her CHF. She should talk to her cardiologist and see if they are against her taking the antibiotics. I am a cardiac nurse and my mother also has CHF. I see lots of heart patients on these types of antibiotics. A quick call to the doctor should help to clear things up. It's a risk benefit thing. It is not good for her health to have this so the benefit of getting rid of it out weighs any risk the medication may have. Let the doctor make that call. JMHO. tpotter
I agree wtih Dedee. Sometimes it's ok to take abx if you are consistent with them, rather than on/off. DH is on coumadin, and he just can't pulse abx.
