Giselle
Hi there, no we haven't but we did try NAET - it seemed to work for a little while, at least with eggs, but now not so much. A good friend of mine did NAET and she found the same to be true. Good luck though, some things work for some and not others. Giselle
patty
Giselle, We are also doing NAET for my son. This summer we treated egg, chicken, white & brown rice, wheat, gluten, oat, oat bran, milk, butter, yogurt, casein & cheeze. We retested everything 3 mos. later and my son tested it weak for oat. Since we are approaching the new year. I am going to wait another 3 months before starting NAET again. Does your son have many food & environmental allergies? If so, it may be worth your while to retreat. IMO, i feel that it is important to get the nutrient directly from the food source instead of supplements. In doing research on supplements, I am concerned about the quality and how well the body absorbs it. Also, by desensitizing my son from his food allergies, he is able to have a variety of food, which allows his body to absorb the necessary nutrients to avoid vitamin or mineral deficiencies. According to our NAET doctor, you should not eat too much of the offending food even it is treated, only in moderation, becuz overloading the body with it will eventually cause a reaction. Also, like any energy treatments, you may need a tune up every so often, since the body's chemistry changes all the time. I have also heard that NMT is also very effective and has a shorter treatment time. However, we have not tried it. Patty
Giselle
Hi Patty, yes, my son has many food allergies (gluten, soy, dairy, corn, dyes, bananas and others) and a few environmental allergies and is super sensitive to all chemical smells - they give him an instant headache as do many perfumes. I agree that I want him to absorb his vitamins from his foods and am starting with enzymes (thanks Daniel!). I actually believe this last horrible bout of tics is because of his vitamins - something in them is bothering him when it didn't before. I took him off everything again and he's almost perfect again - but he needs them, especially B6 (P5P) and zinc. I'm hoping he will last the next 2 1/2 weeks before the Christmas break and then I'll try to reintroduce them (perhaps a different brand) - perhaps the enzymes will have kicked in by then - hope he can tolerate these too. But he's much better today and hardly ticced at all, I could have sent him to school and am doing so tomorrow. I wonder about NAET - and even my son mentioned it during summer as he said he'd like to eat some of the foods that he's not able to now. Only so much one can do at a time and on Thursday we start seeing a Cranial Sacral Osteopath who is about 40 minutes from us - going to give that a try as everything seems so rooted in his jaw, head, and first vertebrae (that's what is always out when we see the chiropractor). The Osteopath asked some pertinent questions: Difficult birth? - yes, breech and C-section. Head falls? - one when he was 2 1/2 straight into a door jamb, about six months before we saw the first tics (which we didn't even know were tics at the time - conscious grinding of his teeth that he couldn't stop doing). Strange nursing presentation? Yes, would only nurse one way, I couldn't flip him and had to cradle him on my left breast but football him on my right (he would nurse with my breast on his right cheek, not look the other way and nurse with it on his left cheek). A couple of other questions about his teeth (which don't match up, the middle of the top is almost two teeth off from the middle of the bottom). He thought he'd benefit from it - I hope so! So glad it's working for you. Do you have to avoid the food or vitamin for 25 hours? One practioner I spoke with said she had a technique to bypass this. patty
Gieselle, When did you do NAET with your son and what did you treat? You mentioned your son wants to start eating certain things again. If he was treated for ex. wheat, he can have it again, in moderation. What kind of enzymes are you using? Does the enzymes reduce tics? How do you figure the vitamin is causing the tics? And how do you know how much and what vitamin to give him? Did you do a blood test? The vitamin supplement dosage is still a mystery to me. I am not sure how to reach a therapuetic balance. My son also grinds his teeth. We found this out about a year before his tics thru his dentist. He also has a underbite. I often wonder if his jaw problem has to do with his tics?! While my son was treating his food allergies thru NAET, our NAET dr. advised us to extend the avoidance period to about 30 - 35 hr. to be safe. I still kind of question the EFFECTIVENESS of NAET becuz i am not sure if my son has become less sensitive to his food allergies due to NAET or because we have been eating so much less of it. We also cleaned up our diet pretty well. We were pretty health conscience before, but now we are even more diligent. We eat mostly organic, and eat much less of his offending food even he was treated for them. Right now, we are also avoiding, food coloring, perservatives, MSG, brewers & bakers yeast and artificial sweetner. We never had artifical sweetner in our diet before but he was tested sensitive thru NAET?! Go figure. I am kind of curious about your son's tic. You mentioned for the last 3 years, he mostly only tic when he is sick. I thought once you have tics, you kind of have it all the time. My son had a sudden onset of acute head nodding, later added vocal, shoulder shrugs, ..... Over time, less tics and less frequent, along with alternative treatments. Somedays, it is hardly noticeable, and somedays, it is more (mostly only to me). Does the tics eventually go away and come back with a vengence?!! Sorry for the many questions. Since it has only been 7 months, I am wondering what to expect. Becasue my son is slowly getting less frequent & fewer tics over the course of 7 mos., I would like to think that it stays that way. I have so much fear and insecurity!!! I just can't stop being a worry mom. Patty
Kidder Creek
HI Has anyone here tried NeuroModulation Technique? It is simular to NAET treatments. Thanks PetB I have been doing NMT now for three weeks. I have had one session for myself and two for my son. We have lyme. This last Wednesday, I had a session for my son and lyme came up. She treated for lyme. Because we share DNA I received part of that treatment along with my son. I have had three, going on four GREAT days since then. I was even able to help with preparing the taxes, something that would have been impossible previously. Not every practitioner gets results. Terri Dodge does. I recommend anyone to do NMT with Terri. www.followthenaturalpath.com www.nmt.md
