patty
Does the Brita water filter filter out all minerals in the water? Would it make sense to drink half Brita filtered water and half RO water to balance out? And how do you know how much electrolyte to add back to the RO water? This water issue is very complicated!!! julia24
OK, and here's one more thought. I have heard that chlorine (which is my major concern right now) will evaporate if you leave water to sit out. Is this true? We can't afford an expensive water system, so we have the Brita filter for our water. I've been thinking of basically settting up a homemade water system, where I let a large containter of water sit out for a day to evaporate the chlorine, and then running it through the Brita filter. You think it would work? And do Brita filters remove parasites? Maybe I should add boiling to my homemade water system.
Claire
Don't know these answers, sorry! But with the electrolytes, we are getting my son tested again today--so far he has been normal, but I think he and I both add salt to food a lot to compensate. (We both have low blood pressure). If his blood levels are still normal, I will put it in 1 bottle a day. During the summer during hiking/biking/sweating/sun, I would do 2 bottles/day. Not everyone needs RO. We did RO for ME because I had several high metals (some trace in tap water) and our DAN doctor said I needed the RO system. He said we could also by that expensive glacier water (where they drill 3 miles deep to get it). I have seen pure water with electrolytes added back in too. This was cheaper over time for us than bottled water. Claire
firm believer
Although I know the nature's spring water is the best, but I do not drink bottle water myself. Becuase it is expensive to buy GOOD quality bottle water. In my family, only my daughter drinks Fiji water. For me and my husband, we try to eat healthy, balance diet and take spirulina or chlorella(to get wide range of mineral) religiously and drink my homemade version of water. Here's how I make my home version of water. I fill large glass water jars(make a couple of them to spre) with water from my RO system. Then put a handful of quartz crystals and let it sit for at least eight hours. Crystals can't remove the toxins, but since I use water from RO system, so I don't need to worry about the toxins. But the hexagonal structure of the quartz crystals has amazing effect to reduce the water's surface tension and let it return to its natural hexagonal structure. (for anyone interested about the water stucture just type hexagonal water in the google search, you will know why it is good for you) If you check the filter used in high end water energizing devices, actually, that's what they use. patty
Since RO water is pure drinking water without the mineral, can you get these minerals from our diet? Patty
