Guest Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Hi Everyone, I had to share this with all of you. This past week I've had quite a bit of success with chelation & new foods. I tried Kale and liked it. It seems like I can only handle just a few bites of new foods at first, but eventually I can handle normal size portions. For the first time in my life I also touched an onion, cut it, and tried a few bites successfully! Before, I never would even touch an onion. For anyone new that doesn't know about my food issues. I have oral hypersensitivity issues which have been gradually, but greatly decreasing since chelating heavy metals. Carolyn
patty Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Great news! I am happy to hear that chelation is helping you. My son's ND recommended chelation for my son, but I want to exhaust all my options before I consider it. Do you experience more tic symptoms while on chelation? Also, how long is this process? As I recall some of your posts, this is your 3rd cycle? Are you taking any supplements while you are on chelation? Do you get sick more often? As I understand it, chelation depleted metal as well as other nutrients in your body. Patty
Guest Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Thanks Patty. I agree it is best to exhaust all your options before considering chelation. I certainly did experience more tic symptoms while on chelation for the first 8-9 months. It was usually after each chelation round. Sometimes I even noted tics when apply the chelation agent. This mostly subsided after about 10 months of chelation. After rounds I still have what I consider stimming. I don't have autism, but I consider it stimming because it's not tics, as I can stop. For example chewing on my hands/bottom lip to me is stimming because I can stop this. I can't explain why I do it, but it seems to happen more when I'm bored, etc. I think it's from movement of heavy metals. I don't know what cycles are considered, but I've been doing chelation for 1 year and 1 month now. I don't use a so called protocol because I don't really fit any exact protocols, and my doctor uses what works best for me. I take lots of supplements. Some extra ones and the ones I was taking already, we pretty much doubled for chelation. For the first 8-9 months, I got sick all the time. That has since subsided, but it was a very very rough for the first 8-9 months. For me, it was very worth the route though. I continuously see improvements. Yes, chelation not only removes bad metals, but also depletes good metals/nutrients. Carolyn
