MamaOnAMission
She is on the doryx/bactrim combo. Full dose, and I see some progress. Amazing! Keeping my fingers crossed. I am now going to try to get either probiotics, milk thistle or something for detox into her. Lots of anxiety about her friend copying her. She said it feels like their stealing her life away when they copy her. Can't really tell if it is confusion or anxiety. Or perhaps anxiety because she is so confused. Every once in awhile she sticks things in peoples faces, like food or mud. I am thinking the next thing to try is probiotics, then milk thistle, then something for detox. Just wondering what you guys thought?
momcap
So glad to hear you are having some success! Yay! I would definitely get her on the probiotics ASAP. Maybe start with a smaller amount and wean up, since she has been so sensitive to everything. There are lots of good options for detox, and they should help to lessen the herxing. We use herbal detox combos as well as milk thistle, and lots of antioxidants. BTW - my DS also gets very upset about copying.
MamaOnAMission
That's interesting about the "copying" thing. She won't stop saying it to friends. I don't think its OCD. I think it's confusion. I am going to try some abilify at some point to see if it helps.
rowingmom
I am so glad to hear of some success!! You will definately need probiotics on a long-term abx protocol, and detox to help with die-off reactions. Keep at it, your daughter is so lucky to have a Mom like you - one that doesn't give up, even when the going gets tough!
