patty Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Hi everyone, I need your help in figuring out if my son's tics are link to his "food/environmental allergy" and "asthma". I have been talking the allergy approach and am wondering if I am heading toward the right direction. My question is: Anyone out there with motor and or vocal tics, also has "food and/or enviromental allergy" and/or "asthma". Thx for your help! I have so many questions. In retrospect, I wish I joined the forum sooner.
Guest Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 Yes, for me there is a connection between motor/vocal tics and food/environement allergy. I have 26 food allergies and many environmental allergies. I don't have asthma though. I will say many kids with tics do have asthma, and I've seen this when working at a camp for ts. I have yet to have a group of six kids where one doesn't have asthma. Dr. Robbins discusses the food/environmental allergy connection on this read-only forum that you can learn a lot from: http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showforum=6 Carolyn
dan Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 My 8-year-old son has had seasonal asthma to pollen (spring and fall) since age 3, and we've noticed that his tics get worse when the pollen is bad.
