New England Compounding Center is a type of pharmacy that mixes ingredients for customised medicines. The steroid in question was three lots of methylprednisolone acetate from the firm. There are many different forms of steroids, and this was an injectable used to treat back and neck pain. It would be injected in the spinal column using an XRay machine. There are other types of injectables used in joints for pain and inflammation, others in muscles for allergy symptom relief (dampening of the immune system), and those given intravenously. So not all types your kids received need to be suspected for this fungus.
