meghill Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 Needing help w/ these confusing Igenex Lyme results. My son's Western Blot IGM says Negative BUT.... 18 kDa. + 31 kDa. IND 39 kDa. IND 41 kDa. +++ 83-93 kDa. IND WB IGG also Negative BUT.... 31 kDa. IND 39 kDa. IND 41 kDa. +++ What does this mean? Is he really NEGATIVE? Should I RETEST him?? Please help me! He's 3 1/2 years old. Thank you.
Hopeny Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 My DD's results have ranged from CDC positive to CDC negative over 5 months time. Symptoms are actually more important than the tests results which frequently vary, even Igenex. My DD's LLMD told us that if he sees Band 93 with symptoms, then he will treat as that band is the DNA of Bb spirochete. Due to your son's age I would recommend contacting Dr. Charles Ray Jones in Connecticut. You really need an LLMD to make sense of the test, symptoms and bands and treatment.
sf_mom Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 (edited) Our twins were thought to have PANS at 2 1/2, at 3 they were diagnosed with gestational Lyme Disease. One had severe language regression between 18 months and 2 1/2 years and one was given Aspergers Diagnoses with OCD/Rage behavior. They are now 5 and have been treated for Lyme Disease for two years and most symptoms have resolved and they are meeting all their age appropriate milestones. My son's results were similarly IND but he was positive for Bartonella and Babesia. Those positive co-infection results pointed us in the right direction for treatment. His twin was serologically negative on all bands except 41. She was treated on a clinical bases and for all the infections her twin had/has and I believe that decision has saved her life. I would find the best possible integrative LLMD to review your highly suspicious Lyme results and look at everything that is impacting your son's ability to deal with chronic infection. I noticed you are in Illinois. If you are willing to travel we have some great Dr.'s in CA versed at treating pediatric Lyme. You caught this very early and you should have some great success treating. Edited July 24, 2012 by SF Mom

The Western Blot doesn't cover those, correct? TIA.

Thank you for taking the time to get back to me:) We are now seeing a Dr. up in Naperville, IL that specializes w/ children on the spectrum of Autism and also LYME...she clinically diagnosed him w/ Lyme because he is so symptomatic of Lyme but I'm having an extremely hard time convincing everyone else he has it (including my husband since it says "Negative" on Igenex...and also my son's pediatrician:(...I know most of you know how that goes). SO...our DAN Dr. Chandra told us that if she can't help Hunter in a few months time that she will be referring us to Dr. Jones in CT. also:) I have heard now from many that he is the BEST:) THANK YOU:)
