Suzan Posted April 23, 2012 Report Posted April 23, 2012 what strain do i get for a 13 year old with lyme/bartonella? My doc likes to rotate them. Right now we are using Klaire Labs THER-BIOTIC COMPLETE. It's expensive but really good. I also use PB-8 and another that I get from his office (Total Probiotics). Susan
socalmom Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 HI Lily, We do the 11 strain powder. it can be purchased directly through the manufacturers web site. hope this helps.
mama2alex Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 If you are talking about the Custom Probiotics brand, I give my 11 yo ds the Adult Formula CP-1 - Acidophilus and Bifidus, 50 billion organisms. We just buy it off the web site: http://www.customprobiotics.com/products.htm Hope that answers your question!
mommakath Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Looks like we need a new one, too....or at least add another in for a while. Our stool culture showed us not growing certain strains and we've been in taking those strains for a while. I find the challenge to be finding one that has multiple strains but doesn't have the strep thermiphilus. Anyone know of one? We do lactate free Custom Probiotic and Theralac currently - twice a day - very consistently. Thanks for any input!
MichaelTampa Posted May 12, 2012 Report Posted May 12, 2012 I have been considering changing brands to Custom Probiotics. I see the make a lactate free one that they say is particularly helpful for autism. As I believe most autism involves lyme, it makes me wonder if that makes sense for me. Of course, I am an adult and do not have autism. Can anyone speak to their experiences in this regard. Any problems with the "regular" version?
SSS Posted May 12, 2012 Report Posted May 12, 2012 Michael - I've tried the D-lactate free Custom Brand about 5 times with my dd (bought 2 separate bottles of it over the years, because I kept hearing great things about it, too, and my dd does not have autism either) Every time I got negative reactions- I kept trying, because those bottles were $$$ I didn't think it was die off- could be wrong, but I felt like 'No' on this one- ended up giving both to DH, since I don't do powdered probiotics, he was fine. She responds well to the 11 strain- I like this one a lot- and, have a bottle of the CP1 capsules- Not much help maybe, we all respond slightly different I guess.
