I have one similar it puts off a very strong ozone smell. We use on low setting very high on pot shelf. Supposed to kill mold as well. Ecoquest is the one I purchased. Hope its working it runs daily.

We considered buying one when we got the a/c replaced, but if it's like the one we considered, it puts out ozone, which can make asthma worse. So, we just got an upgraded hepa filter, instead.

I was checking out hepa filters that also kill viruses and bacteria. This one seems to be a hospital grade one:

I don't own it, but do own the IQ Air Pro Plus, which is in my son's room. I was thinking of getting the hospital grade one for the living room/dining room area where all people congregate, especially guests who come over with illnesses, even though they swear up and down that they are not sick.

Wondering if anyone else has this one. It is pricey. I phoned the company, and they said that it is typically used when you need totally clean air, like when someone has a medical condition. It is a hospital grade one, that can be used in operating rooms he said. Interesting.
