How many and which supplements do you give? We give my son about 10...just wondering how many others give? We feel like ten is a lot but don't know how to narrow it down!

My DD16 would love to take only 10 supplements a day! She takes 57 supplements per day: 2 Omega 3, 1 vit E, 6 Querciplex, 2 Curcummin, 3 Milk Thistle, 2 Alpha Lipoic Acid, 5 vit C, 2 vit D3, 2 L-Carnitine, 2 Theralac, 1 5-MTHF, 4 Zinc Picconlinate, 2 vit B1, 2 vit B2, 4 vit B6, 2 Manganese, 4 NAC, 2 Magnesium Glycinate, 2 Transfer Factor Tri-Factor, 2 Transfer Factor Lym-Plus, 2 Adrenal Companion, and 1 Melatonin.

It it really hard to answer- My daughter took a ton (literally like over 50 a day!) at the height of it- all from an LLMD who was great. And, to be quite frank- she was at her best during that period of time. I have no idea what worked and what didn't.

Some that I do think definitely helped (well maybe?) were methylated b12 (sublingual) given for acute OCD, anxiety, rages and maybe NAC. Now, one of our biggest issues is inability ot ake medicine (due to OCD) so she is taking nothing. She says that "when she gets better" (meaning OCD improves) she will go back to that doctor to get on all the supplements that will "repair her & fix it all" Those are her words (she is 14). She agrees and recognizes that the supplements were helpful.

I will be honest, though. I have the utmost respect for those on here who coordinate their child's supplementation. It is complicated to get it right (timing, co-administration, etc.) I do not think I could figure this out on my own!

If things are oging well for you son, maybe you can decided which is least likely to help and then go off it for a few days and see. It is scary to rock the boat, I know!

An even dozen in my house: 2 abx, Core + primrose oil ( for pyroluria), resveratrol (oxidative stress/inflammation), multi-vitamin, milk thistle (liver support for abx), garlic (yeast), magnesium (brain), psyillium husk (lower GI), combo probiotics (upper GI), plus DS takes copper a few times a week (due to high zinc in Core) and DD takes tryptophan (for everyone's sanity).

This blend changes every few months. We just dropped D3 as the sun started coming out and just added garlic. You do get pill fatigue, but these have made such a difference. When DS got what may have been strep last month, he went thru a flair that was maybe a 2-3 compared to the 9-10 crises of days gone by. For him, the Core and primrose oil for pyroluria are key and he will probably be on that for life. Probably the magnesium too - it really helps his brain. The other stuff is good general health stuff. The reality is the kids have health issues and they don't get what they need from their diets. They both would rather feel good than go back the the old days.

Just wanted to add: We have done previous years of supplementation- lots.

I did bio-med w/dd for 2 years before pandas dx and antibiotics-

We did diet, healing the gut, lots of vitamins, parasite protocols, curcumin protocols, on and on.

So my list seems spare.

Do you give the Burber & Parsley drops on the same days as Milk Thistle? How many daily drops of each do you use (burber/parsley)? thx

Geez. who told you whaf to give your kids? Did you all deCide these yourself?

I dont know where to begin. I give omega sometimes.

Thats about it.

**I did decide myself, after many blood, urine, stool, Zyto, and muscle testing at one point, 1 well know DAN! Dr. (no, she does not have autism) 2 LLMD's, bio-med books, Lyme books,

and thousands of dollars spent on trial and error, reading parental testimonies, and reading for hours research on the Internet.

Kept trying.

I would like to think it all helped somewhat.

She does remarkably well in school, which I'm very grateful.

I am on many more supplements than my dd right now, trying to get better with only 7 months into it, having ignored myself for years.

Everything my kids are on is reviewed at every bi-monthly LLMD appointment.

Initially, specific supplements were suggested by the doctor. Some have worked well and my kids remain on them.

Others didn't pan out and we tried other supplements that treated the same issue - e.g. we initially tried alpha lipoic acid for oxidative stress, then tried liposomal glutathione, and are now using resveratrol instead.

A few are things I read about on the forum or through research and then asked our doctor about adding them (e.g. milk thistle for the liver - a good thing for those on long term abx and/or ibuprofen).

So it's been a combo approach but even if it's something I decide to try on my own (e.g. garlic for yeast), I'll run it by the doctor in a few weeks when we see him. That's one of the things I love about using an integrative doctor. The conventional doctors we once used just shrugged when I asked about supplements, so I felt very alone and worried. Now, we see a doctor who's well versed in supplements and can discuss pros and cons with me. It gives me that safety net.

Like S&S - I too now take many of the same things my kids do. It just makes me feel better. I can tell a difference - especially if I stop for a few days.

All supplements are prescribed by our integrative MD.
