socalmom Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 After a bad experience with the Emergency room at our local hospital, and dealing with skeptical Dr's AND nurses I would like to ask what information do you think is best for helping to explain this disorder? - Such as an article online or something I could print out to help me. I have trouble explaining as I am really exhausted, new to all this and have a kid that sleeps poorly.
PowPow Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it is an excellent resource, in my opinion. Practical Advice for PANDAS Again, may not help in your situation, but I think it gives a great overview. It is also not "too scientific", is short enough to read quick and being from the IOCDF- is has some credibility behind it!
patric Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 I understand! I brought the white paper, the new info on the NIMH website and a post someone had put on this forum from a Harvard medical doc to my son's ped. Sorry I don't have the links and am running out, but maybe someone will post them . I am not sure they helped, but it made me feel better to walk into the ped's office "armed." I almost felt like telling him, "See, I am not crazy!" It can be an uphill battle. Ugh! Good luck!
patric Posted March 9, 2012 Report Posted March 9, 2012 Just read PowPows post. That paper is the one I printed and took along with the others. Please let us know if you have any luck:)
socalmom Posted March 9, 2012 Author Report Posted March 9, 2012 Thanks. I thought there might be more out there, I'll have to do the looking. I was trying to avoid spending my free time searching the web.
