Hi Hermann

yes...we call monosodium glutamate MSG and it is a BIG tic trigger for my son and I believe really unhealthy for everyone!

the other big food additive thing that sets my son's tics off is the high fructose corn syrup which the American food companies seem to put in EVERYTHING

the sweeteners like aspartame (nutrasweet) and sucralose(Splenda) seem to also cause him increased tics and mega increased OCD/brain fog as do those pesky artificial colours like red40 and yellow5 etc

Why o why do they feel they have to make everything coloured??!!! even white marshmallows have blue colour added

I am new to this forum and all this seems so interesting. I am a 20 year old with Tourettes and recently i have started to eat those cup of noodles stuff which contain msg. and recently i've had a bad tic that made me grind my teeth. before this tic, i would conistantly bite my tongue. i scrolled down and read a part of this forum that said others experience strong tics 3 weeks before spring, that is exactly the same time i experience horrible tics!

Hi Kenton and welcome to Latitudes

an excellent supplement to help with tooth grinding is vitamin B5, aka Pantothenic acid

without a doubt, food additives have proven to be the biggest tic triggers for my son
