deagar Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I have been debating about having the pyroluria testing done. I think I am going to do it but don't know which company to use...Bio Center Laboratory or Direct Health Care??? I have seen both names in various threads. I am assuming that both are simlilar in price and procedure. Is one better than the other? Will they give you recommendations with the results or do you need to find a doctor to explain the results and what supplements, if any, could be helpful? Thanks!
Chemar Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 Hi deagar I hope someone with info on this will be along soon have you done a forum search on "pyroluria"?... I seem torecall that Claire may have posted info re the labs to use without a doctors prescription? we had the pyroluria testing done thru our doctor at the time when all the other tests were also being run and so i really cant remember which lab they used. it is a good test to get done tho
deagar Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 Hi deagar I hope someone with info on this will be along soon have you done a forum search on "pyroluria"?... I seem torecall that Claire may have posted info re the labs to use without a doctors prescription? we had the pyroluria testing done thru our doctor at the time when all the other tests were also being run and so i really cant remember which lab they used. it is a good test to get done tho My doctor and pediatric neurologist don't know what the pyroluria test is. I emailed the whole list of tests that were recommened in one the threads for getting started. I know she ran the Lead, Mercury, B6, Zinc, ASO & DNase B tests but I think that was all out of everything that was listed. I wanted her to do the delayed food sensitivity test but it wasn't on the list when we went to have the blood drawn. I plan to do the pyroluria test but I thought I read that the results need to be sent to a doctor on one thread and have been busy with a father-in-law in hospice so I didn't want to search out everything due to limited free time right now. Hopefully someone can give me a little guidance and I can get the test ordered and either start him on supplements/vitamins or rule out pyroluria. Thanks - Deanna
Chemar Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 maybe this thread can help you Deanna http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=648&hl= it MUST be a urine test for accuracy...kp does not show in blood
