Ds, hubby and I flew east to see Dr. B. Our flight was delayed, missed our connecting flight and did not hit the big city until well past 8pm on the 14th. Dr B graciously rescheduled us for the 15th at 8 am. He is very insightful and tells you exactly what he believes in. I know that DS is in good hands. After talking with all of us, looking at pictures and looking at our son, he said to us, "If I could get you in to see Dr. J, would you go?" I looked at my DH, knew what I wanted for DS, and said "Yes, of course." In God's infinite timing and wisdom, a brother and sister cancelled for later in the day, just at the perfect time for us to eat lunch and make the drive to his office.

Dr. J is getting a little hard of hearing, but he had two physicians shadowing him that day who were very helpful. One is from the Seattle area, so there will be more coverage for patients in that area (yeah). I would say that Dr. J's mind is very sharp. He is going to work with Dr. B to ensure that son is progressing nicely.

They changed almost all of his medications and his allergy treatments. Gone is the SLIT therapy for allergy treatment, hello allergy shots (again). He is going to take Augmentin XR 1000 mg twice a day with a steroid taper and a nasal spray. The strep is in his nose, just like we thought all along. That's the reason he has had so many sinus issues. Duh... You could see the big red ball on the inside of his septum. Dr B showed me where to look and I almost did a fist pump because I was so excited (and maybe a little vindicated).

Dr. J is putting him on Biaxin, Minocin, and pulsing Tindamax. We are even changing probiotics to Sacc B. His supplements basically stayed the same. Office staffs were awesome, even when dealing with a crying, screaming 12 year old boy.

We have a lot more blood work to do at our local Quest office, but I am glad to be moving forward. Thankful to all of you for your imput and to United for delaying our flight, which actually set part of this chain of events in motion.

Hubby is doing well. He has some small scars from laparascopic surgery to remove his gallbladder. He did not offer to show his scars to Dr. B. Whew!! He played golf while on medical leave, so I guess he's doing great. Everything worked out well in the end for both son, hubby and me!
