deagar Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 My sons cheek biting tics have gone crazy recently. I have read so many threads lately and now that I want to research somethings, I can't find the original thread for the info. Can anyone tell me some tests that I should have performed that may help us figure out why things went crazy? My sons was exposed to strep and I am aware of the strep titer test. He was checked for the traditional allergies, but not food. Is there a test for food allergies? I know I've read stuff about yeast, metals etc. but can't remember the specifics and don't have the time right now to search through everything again. So if anyone can tell me what tests I should have performed to get a better handle on this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
Chemar Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 Here is a helpful thread on "getting started..." deagar http://www.latitudes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1211 Honestly, from what you describe with this sudden escalation and also that your child was exposed to strep, I would HIGHLY recommend that you FIRST get a PANDAS evaluation (blood test strep titre...not just throat swab) Most often this is the cause of a dramatic increase in tics and OCD Antibiotic treatment (see the new thread just posted by Ronnas on this) HTH

He is starting antibiotics today. Hopefully we will see some relief soon. I just got back from the dentist and got my son a mouthguard. We are very confused though. The cut he has in his cheek is back behind his back molar. We can't figure out how he can injure/bite this area. Any ideas on how this happens????
