JenniferG Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 My dd8 has been in an "exacerbation" for over a month and a half. Her brothers had strep, ear infections and croup. Thought it was that. Everyone is better. She does have a tooth " hanging by a thread" could this be the cause?
Tracie Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Yes my DD always goes into a flair with a loose tooth.. I just up her abx's for 10 days. But ask your PANDAS doc on what to do for sure A loose tooth makes all kind of bacteria in the mouth.
FrogPrince Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Our son's personality seemed to change over night and he was having PANDAS symptoms for about a week or so. We were trying to figure out what the heck was going on and a light bulb went off when he showed us his loose tooth. It's happened with almost every one! With our son it seems to be any time his system is stressed his PANDAS acts up and it doesn't have to be strep anymore. Sick (even just a cold), loose tooth, etc. seems to trigger him. lmi1973 Posted February 15, 2012 Report Posted February 15, 2012 This happens with my son too. He has two loose teeth right now, argh... One is like a molar that is taking forever to come out:(

A loose tooth means more bacteria from the mouth (esp. bad if it is strep) can be released into the bloodstream.
