MamaOnAMission Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Has anyone ever heard of dr. Fallon at Columbia in new York?
LNN Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Dr Fallon is a well known lyme researcher. Are you asking if anyone here has seen him?
MamaOnAMission Posted February 10, 2012 Author Report Posted February 10, 2012 Yes. Sorry. and also is he of the belief that ONLY a short course of abx. are needed or does he believe that sometimes abx. are needed for long periods of time? thanks
cobbiemommy Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 Dr. Fallon does not see pediatric patients.
MamaOnAMission Posted February 11, 2012 Author Report Posted February 11, 2012 Thanks. I did not know that
Santi Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Dr Fallon is a well known lyme researcher. Are you asking if anyone here has seen him? I am surprised he does not see children. Much of his research is done on neuropsychiatric disorders associated with Lyme and you see this is many children. Andrea
MamaOnAMission Posted February 12, 2012 Author Report Posted February 12, 2012 does anyone know if anyone at columbia sees children?
JTs-Mom Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 I believe someone else on this forum said Dr. Fallon refers some pediatric patients to Dr. Ernest Visconti, a pediatric infectious disease doc in Staten Island, NY.
MamaOnAMission Posted February 12, 2012 Author Report Posted February 12, 2012 is there an advantage to putting your child into a hospital with a lyme specialist on board to dig deeper into what is going on?
dcmom Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Lilly- I would contact Dr Fallon for a referral for your child.
Hopeny Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 If someone has seen Dr. Viconti could you please PM me with your impressions/experiences? My 8 y.o. DD has just been diagnosed with Lyme, 2 weeks after the 4 week course of antibiotics (pediatrican gave 3 but granted my request for 4 weeks) her symptoms are creeping back. Pediatrician has suggested things like "maybe she has migrane headache" and admitted she has little experience with Lyme, so clearly I need an LLMD. I believe she contracted it in April 2010 which is when she had symptoms that I now know are classic Lyme. Any help greatly appreciated, we live in Westchester, New York but will of course travel to get help. Thank you in advance,
