Blue Green Algae for tics

I've been researching information on Blue Green Algae for tics. I've found sites that warn about toxins in the algae and some side affects of the toxins, i.e., digestion problems, numbness, tingling. Does anyone have any solid information on using this product in children?

honestly, this is an area I know very little about, although I have heard of the nutritional benefits of blue-green algae.
