ilovedogs
My ds hardly ever complains about his tics. Sometimes he mentions that his shoulder is sore from his shoulder tic and sometimes he complains a bit at the end of the day, but it's never gotten to the point where he's really hurting. Lately, he's had an eye tic where he rolls his eyes to the upper left hand corner. He says he feels like he's straining his eyeballs and it really hurts his eyes and is making him miserable. Thankfully, we homeschool and I can cut back on his reading a bit for now but I was wondering what I can do to relieve them? He will do epsom salts baths every few days or so but I am looking for something that will give immediate relief. Anyone dealt with this tic and can offer some advice? Thx! And, while I'm asking: what about his shoulder tic? I've thought of making a magnesium cream for him and rubbing it on but he gets frustrated if something doesn't give immediate relief. Hence, the reason he'll only do epsom salts baths a few times a week, every day would be asking too much of him, LOL!
Beating tourette
I have often noticed that the tics are worse in a "problem area". i.e. my son had mostly neck tics and when we found out his atlas bone was displaced, and had a chiroprator put it back, his neck tics subsided. Same thing with the eye tics. I used and herbal eye rinse and it helped diminish the eye tics. I also use Traumeel on his upper back shoulder area to help his muscles when sore. The same Chiropractor recommended it.
Chemar
Bonnie...has he had his eyes tested? My son's eye tics were most bothersome until he got his glasses. welcome to the forum Beating tourette I agree about tics in irritated areas! We use epsom salts cream or a washcloth soaked in the warm solution on muscle areas and whole body soak or footbath when it is general
