Wilma Jenks Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 I believe I have bartonella and will find out for sure this Thursday. I rememeber having signs as a young child. That would have been 1960. Was this tic thing a problem, that far back. We did live near woods, but I never saw too many animals other than some skunks. Just wondering....
Suzan Posted September 11, 2011 Report Posted September 11, 2011 (edited) Yes, I believe so. Where did you grow up? I believe I got my tick bite in the early 1970's in either California or North Carolina. I don't know for a fact but this is what seems to make the most sense. In CA, we were camping all the time. We did tick checks in those days for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever but didn't know about lyme then. I am diagnosed with lyme and probable bartonella. Susan Edited September 11, 2011 by Suzan

This stuff has been around at least for centuries, probably for millions of years. The feds did do research with lyme several decades ago on Plum Island which is between Long Island and Connecticut, which almost certainly led to the outbreak in Lyme Connecticut and surrounding areas (New York state, etc.) in the 1960's-1970's. But they didn't invent the stuff, it's been around a long time.
