momaine Posted August 15, 2011 Report Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Your symptoms (except for the migraines) are identical to mine. I also felt like I am/was 145 years old. I would never have figured out I had lyme/bart except that my dd has it and I read so much about it. I am in month 5 (I think) of treatment and on the good days I am SO MUCH BETTER. The herxing still kills me at times but I am so glad I started treatment. I really felt like I had the beginnings of alzheimers (sp). It was scary! My mind is back to almost 100% except on bad herxing days. My feet are much better but still have a ways to go. After starting treatment and beginning to feel better, I realized how much muslce pain I was experiencing on a daily basis. You get used to pain when it comes on slowly and is always there. I had forgotten what it felt like to feel good. Edited August 15, 2011 by momaine

Suzan Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Thanks for all of this info! Yikes, though - - seriously, the more I read about all of this - - the more I feel like I really need to get Igenex + coinfection testing done for MYSELF!! I am a major migrainer - - very severe - - with varied results with meds, etc. Also - I am 45 years old and feel like I am 145!! I've attributed it to stress - - but I in addition to the constant headaches - I can barely walk in the morning because my feet are in so much pain, I walk around in a constant, tired fog and I am scarily forgetful (it has been the long-standing "joke" for my kids). I could go on - - but I thought I was depressed and experiencing PTSD from dealing with the unkown of my boys' PANDAS and now Bartonella. This sounds so much lime what happened to me too. I did not have the migraines but the others you mention and more. I totally agree, get yourself tested too. I am doing a lot better since last year after going on treatment. HUGS! Susan
sf_mom Posted August 17, 2011 Report Posted August 17, 2011 Me too, feeling much better. The fog has lifted and I have my energy back. I also went down hill after pregnancy. Pregnancy is a known trigger. Our LLMD did my test initially as courtesy (he was already seeing my older son at time)..... once the results came back positive I had to make an official appointment. Our LLMD typically recommends not testing in advance of appointment due to preference of types of tests and labs used. -Wendy
