sf_mom Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) A parent researching biofilm protocols recently forwarded me this particular link. It is interesting to me how the biofilm sequesters calcium, magnesium, iron and minerals. I have always been anemic and just started KPU treatment. All my children are also being treated for KPU along with all their chronic infections. http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=44960753282&topic=13555 Most recently I have had the opportunity to see some Fry Lab Blood Smears for Bartonella. It is often clear when biofilm's are present. It is one thing to understand them intellectually and another thing to actually see the bioflim among the blood cells on the results. My husband shows indications of Bartonella, has the presence of biofilm's, has high strep titers 'still' and was recently found to be positive for Chlamydia pneumoniae. He is not currently being treated with antibiotics and we are doing a few things to support his immune system that includes, daily detox, hd Probiotics, hd B-12, BEG Nasal Spray. He has had a chronic cough in the evenings only for about six months that has cleared up with the BEG spray. We are concerned about the ongoing toxins these biofilms create but have not yet made a decision on how we will move forward. He shows some exposure to Lyme but only had two linger symptoms of prostrate pain and the chronic cough. He was treated for strep carrier state last year and many of his minor symptoms resolved like frequent neck pain and ongoing acid reflux all while his strep titers continued to go up, NOT DOWN. He is healthy, healthy, healthy.... Perhaps it is the presence of the biofilms and ongoing toxin release that were/are causing the low level symptoms. -Wendy Edited August 13, 2011 by SF Mom

SSS Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Right before we came to pandas, December 2010, I was doing weekend chelation protocols of DMSA with my dd, to try and get her mercury down. We did 5 weekends in a row, and the 5th weekend we upped the dose, and after that weekend, literally, all heck broke loose, we came to pandas, but, I am convinced that 5 week chelation released some bio-films (mercury is tied up in bio-films, too) and it flooded her with bacteria (pick lyme or strep) and no antibiotics to deal with it- we put her on daily Azith. soon after, and it brought her 'back.'
sf_mom Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) Wow, I bet you are right.... I should add we treated older DS for Biofilms with Enzymes with EDTA from Jan 2011 until this past June. When we started, he appeared to herx and the dark circles under his eyes returned along with chapped lips..... he was very pale and withdrawn looking. Recently we stopped the biofilm protocol to treat KPU due to mineral deficiencies.... since treating almost immediately the dark circles under his eyes and chapped lips improve and his full face has returned. We hope to revisit biofilm treatment in the near future once we are further into KPU treatment. -Wendy Edited August 13, 2011 by SF Mom
tpotter Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 This is totally facinating. Now, if biofilms like calcium, magnesium, and such, should we be taking calcium and magnesium?
mama2alex Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Wendy, Thanks for posting! This is a great article and very timely for us, as we just started working on biofilms. We are doing a very simplified protocol (one antibiotic and 2 caps of an enzyme called Interfase Plus 30 min before eating), so I worry that we should be doing something more like what's described in this article. What are others doing for biofilms?
aidansmom Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Aidan's LLMD has him on nattokinase for biofilms.
JuliaFaith Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 FYI - I believe the BEG nasal spray is a mixture of Abx and EDTA (biofilm dissolver). This is what the pharmacist told me.
sf_mom Posted August 13, 2011 Author Report Posted August 13, 2011 That is interesting since he has biofilm's and his symptoms have improved.
JuliaFaith Posted August 13, 2011 Report Posted August 13, 2011 Forgot for a second, but my son is also drinking 3-4 cups a day of rock rose tea as a biofilm buster. It makes your mouth feel very dry when drinking it for some reason, otherwise, the taste is pretty good.
