KarinRenee
My 17 year old son is going to Luxembourg, Germany and France with his twin brother and friend later this fall. He has vocal tics and an occasional jerk - which comes and goes depending how tired and excited he is. Does he need some sort of medical card with him, in case the tics happen at an inopportune time??? Please advise! We have tried Carnosine, we have tried the Grimaldi vitamins, nothing has really calmed down the vocal. We are currently trying tenex, but not having much affect with that, makes him tired. Not sure where to go from here or how to handle the international travel. He will only be gone a week - staying with family friends while there. Chemar
Hi it really would be a good idea for him to have an explanatary note, preferably signed by his doctor, stating that he has TS and briefly outlining his symptoms. Better to be prepared and not need it than be in a difficult situation of someone misunderstanding etc. Hope he has a wonderful trip ps I personally feel that magnesium is the #1 supplement needed for TS....best taken with calcium in the ratio of calcium:magnesium 2:1 and usual adult daily dose recommended is 1000CAL:500MAG with 50mg zinc. Taking 500mg of taurine with that is beneficial. There are other helpful supps, but IMHO the magnesium is most important.
