Iowadawn Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 Hello all! Got a quick question that has crossed my mind. Our ds12 has what seem to be vocal/facial tics again. He's a PANDAS/lyme case. The tics/chorea type movements disappeared after the first IVIG and abx. Do tics typically go along with the TBI or is this more a PANDAS presentation? We are coming out of a particularly rough behavior time--had to add some additional meds. The tics have been coming now for a couple months. Just was wondering. Dawn

Dawn From what I understand, both can cause tics. I think (think) that since either can affect the brain, both can cause neurological symptoms to include both behavioral and physical. bill
justinekno Posted April 8, 2011 Report Posted April 8, 2011 My son is solely Lyme and has an eye tic that seems to be lessening with Lyme treatment.
momaine Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 My dd is a PANDAS/Lyme kid and she is revisiting a facial motor tic now that she is herxing.
MichaelTampa Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 I had tics and other muscle spasms that went away with lyme treatment.
sf_mom Posted April 9, 2011 Report Posted April 9, 2011 Off and on we have had full remission of tics. DS started with a cough again in Jan in response to antibiotic rotation. The cough has evolved into an occasional very mild head nod that also looks like it is resolving.
Iowadawn Posted April 9, 2011 Author Report Posted April 9, 2011 Thanks, all! I appreciate the input. I hope the vocal stuff doesn't get much louder. It's a humming-singing type sound or a start the chainsaw -raspberry type sound. The facial is kind of a sideways movement of the mouth area. Dawn
