mama2alex Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 I wish I could tell you. The cholestyramine is in a powder form and I could not get it into him on a consistent basis - both because he hated the taste and we weren't able to find a good way to cover it and because he was supposed to take it 3 times a day at least two hours away from antibiotics/supplements. Basically, it was mission impossible - he refused to cooperate and there weren't enough hours in the day. The flair from strep exposure seems to be diminishing slowly on its own. But, our LLMD also told me at our appointment this past Tuesday that he is sure Alex has strep hiding out in his nasal passages. We'd tried to give him bactroban to kill it, but he couldn't tolerate the feeling of the ointment in his nose. So the LLMD changed us to a nasal spray, which they special ordered and we are waiting for. He is also rerunning ASO titers. Hope that helps!
