No-Fenol

Hello - (I usually post on the PANDAS side but thought here may be the best place for this question)

 

I am looking at trying the enzyme supplement No-Fenol for my ds3 who may have a salicylate sensitivity. At the moment I/we don't have the energy to try a full Feingold type diet but I thought I could try the No-Fenol as I have heard good reports on it helping those with a sal. sens. to better deal with it if they can't go totally salicylate free. I was hoping that a good response may show us if we need to do an elimination diet.

 

So.. my question is - 'cos he's little and can't swallow capsules.. is it the sort of enzyme that is safe to be opened up and sprinkled on or mixed in food?

 

I'm aware that some enzymes are too strong to do that with and didn't know if that applied to this one?

Hi Dut,

I recall looking into No-Fenol, but didn't go through with using it, mainly because it had to be taken with every meal. But I may look into it again at some point down the road, so please keep us posted.

 

I thought I recalled that on the website where is was being sold, there was contact information for asking such questions. I'd start there, and then maybe ask his ped.

p.s. Have you implemented a good multivitamin? Sometimes you'll find ingredients in a good multi that work at some of the same things the No-Fenol works at. we do an ok multi, we tried better ones but found the ones we tried were many capsules a day and he has to have all that kind of stuff opened and hidden.. will explore better multi vit again tho

Assume you're talking about Houston Enzymes brand. I use that, their site does say fine to take out of capsule and sprinkle on food. I use several of their enzymes, open them all up as I cannot swallow capsules, works fine.
