Never posted a poll before, goodness all the boxes to check and so on. Hope this turns out...

For those mothers on this board who believe they have lyme (or had lyme), I am wondering how many of the husbands/partners also have lyme.

DH since he has been with me has experienced these new symptoms (We've been married 5 yrs)

increase in GI issues

SEVERE itching, especially at night

some sensory issues that come and go

random sharp pains that come and go

back pain- severe and debilitating at times (to the pt he got cortisone injections for awhile)

pain and burning in soles of feet

increase in headaches

lethargy and intermittent narcolepsy

arthritis in joints

the general feeling that he is suddenly "falling apart" for no apparent reason

Thought about whether to reply since my info won't help what you are looking for but maybe it will be interesting :P

My girls paternal genes are from an anonymous donor and I am a single mother. The medical profile does not show anything significant that might indicate the donor had lyme prior to conception and he was not around to get it later (lucky him  ).

My DH has his evaluation tomorrow when the kids and I have a follow up. I would stake our savings (what's left from all $ spent on treatment! ) that he has it. He remembers being bit by a tick back when we were dating but I'd be willing to bet he was bit as a teenager when he became very anal retentive! Used to take his bike apart to pieces, clean it and then put it back together. He also is very detail oriented, organized, etc. I always thought it was b/c he's an engineer but he also has had other symptoms. He had shoulder pain for months to the point he was going to have an MRI & surgery if needed. Then one day he woke up w/ the hurt shoulder feeling fine and the other shoulder hurting him. Strangely Lyme-like! He has a hard time concentrating which is weird b/c he's normally such a driven/focused/over achieving guy. He also has been more tired than the average person for years. We had local GP run tests. His CD 57 is 163 but there were some red flags in there. Like EBV past infection we knew nothing about. And very high Chlamydia-pneumonia IgG. I forget the other red flags but Dr. Beals is going to check it all out tomorrow.

DH raised along CT River. Camp counselor. Tons of Tics. Diagnoses Osgood Schlatters Disease at 12 (LLMD believes it might have been a misdiagnoses). Allergies, chronic sinus and ears problems growing up. ASO currently 244 and Anti-DNase-B 980. He had 2 to 3 stiff necks a year, reflux issues, prostrate pain, sleep issues, often sick along with children..... I'm forgetting a few symptoms. All symptoms resolved but strep titers when treated for strep carrier state. His Igenex results were IND with Lyme specific bands. We recently did provocation testing on him and do not have results yet.

Even though I grew up in MN and was most likely exposed to Lyme. I was not symptomatic until I met my husband. My first and only symptoms for over two years, prior to our first pregnancy was night waking between 3 and 4 a.m. I became more symptomatic after each pregnancy. I was told mostly likely early on-set of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Auto-Immune or Fibromyalgia until we figured out Lyme.

Interesting, both of my siblings were diagnosed with Osgood Schlatters as early teens. They were both promising athletes, who had to quit sports. My brother now has chronic fatigue.

Been divorced for 10 years and have little contact with ex so no idea. However, his mother has FM, one sister has MS, and his other sister has serious mental health issues. Makes you wonder! Even if I suggested he test himself I'm sure he would not.
