texascatholic Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Hi All... Sorry I've been rather vacant from the forums lately, but I'm still in the ugh stage of pregnancy. 2 quick questions... 1. Dr. Rao recommended we use Primal Defense as a probiotic. Does anyone else use this one? 2. A horrible stomach flu just went through the house. Although PANDAS DD9 did not get it, her tics and anger/frustration flew through the roof. Has anyone experienced major exacerbations from something like exposure to the stomach flu? We get IVIG #3 this Wed. with Dr. Infante. It has produced improvements (when we are not exposed to illnesses, that is!) God bless, Holly
texascatholic Posted February 14, 2011 Author Report Posted February 14, 2011 Sorry people, I accidentally double-posted!

I am at last feeling a sense of relief and that maybe we are in the right place. He is suggesting pursuing the IVG if the Cunningham test comes back positive. How did your IVG go? Were there any side effects?
texascatholic Posted March 21, 2011 Author Report Posted March 21, 2011 Hi There! IVIG went well. Of course she had headaches and nausea (mainly the first time) but that's normal. She's had it 4 times now. However, after each infusion we have an upswing of negative behaviors lasting about 2 weeks that's no fun. Glad your appointment went well with Dr. Infante! God bless, Holly
MomWithOCDSon Posted March 21, 2011 Report Posted March 21, 2011 2. A horrible stomach flu just went through the house. Although PANDAS DD9 did not get it, her tics and anger/frustration flew through the roof. Has anyone experienced major exacerbations from something like exposure to the stomach flu? Hi Holly -- Yes, we had the norovirus in our home, and both DH and I were completely out of commission for about 3 days, with lingering symptoms for another 2 or 3 days. PANDAS DS14 didn't actually "catch" the virus as DH and I did, but his OCD and anxiety definitely ramped up on the heels of it all. It appears a compromised immune system . . . deficient or hyper . . . will respond to just about anything, whether bacterial or viral.
