Hi All,

I am taking Doxy (100mg 2X day) for a positive lyme WB result and for Rosacia. About 3 weeks into treatment I started having severe pain in both legs...all over soreness...day & night. I haven't done anything different and no exercising. Could this be herxing?

So sounds like a herx to me. I too experience ALL different types of migrating pain, numbness and headaches. It was tolerable most of the time. I even had really, really deep bone pain in my thighs. On the days I have pain I'm reminded I have Lyme. Its getting so much better. I started Azithro in August and combo'd antibiotics October and I already feel a ton better.

I took Aleve 2x daily for weeks when I had my pain and when it was REALLY bad I tried Tylenol w-codeine but I didn't like the way I felt. I also tried 1 or 2 mg of Valium and that helped to get thru the really bad days. What also helped was PT 3x/week, which included ultrasound and massage. Also ice packs daily. My pain was in my hip and back.

yep ha ha...deep leg pain. Sometimes in the thighs, hips, and lower back too! I felt like I had been seriously working out and lifting weights. I feel like the herxes can kind of build and sneak up on you.

Exactly...like I did 1000 lunges...very, very, very painful. My legs are so wobbly I can barely stand. Oh, I sure hope it doesn't extend to the back. I'll try some alleve. I've been taking Advil...nothin. I'll ice as well. Thanks!

Our LLMD recommends heat for pain and we've had success with the heating pad and baths. I hope it goes away soon!

Deep, deep bone pain in the thigh is a symptom of Babesia. It lasted about two weeks and I still get it off and on. It has been almost the most painful thing other than the lower back that came and went. I take advil. I was negative for Babesia via Igenex but I have a lot of the clinical symptoms and they will continue to test me. I started taking Enula (Nutrametrix) last week and I am working up to 30 drops, 2 x day to see if we can't provoke it a little. I am to watch for headaches, night sweats, bad dreams, increase in joint pain and more little red dots on my skin.

Wendy, can you tell me more about the little red dots? I think I have what you are talking about on my arms and legs.

Little red dots look like red freckles.... Dr. Jones has a picture of it under Babesia on his website. http://www.drjoneskids.com/

I've never seen his website before, it's really good. Great photo's. That is exactly what I have. I will bring it up with my next LLMD.

I do not have a lot.... maybe 10 in different area's of my body but I've had dizzy spells, vomiting with dizzy spells, deep thigh bone pain, red dots, headaches of all kinds, etc. Negative test results but they still believe its there.

I notice this deep thigh pain is considerably worse in the evening, yet I hardly did any standing/walking during the day. Same as yesterday. I can see it's going to be another sleepless night.

I am brand new to this site and brand new to lymes (just got diagnosed via the Neuroscience ITT Lymes test). But for what it's worth, I had deep leg pain before I started the antibiotics the doctor wanted me to take. It was so deep and pinaful and I had never ever had this before. I then started on the regimen he prescribed, which is Ceftin and Diflucan. Now the leg pain ebbs and flows and is not as intense. So maybe it can be from the Lymes.
