JuliaFaith Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Yesterday, my ds developed a rash (purple dots) on his chin and at the same time a red itchie rash between his thumb and first finger. Also, the rash on his knuckles was pretty red (which he had already got rid of with UNDA 240 cream previously). Thinking this might be herxing? He has not had any other herxing symptoms that I have spotted before this. Thank you for your insights.

sf_mom Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) If you have any antibiotic ointment available rub it on a portion of the rash and see if it goes away. If it does in three days.... most likely bacterial based. Otherwise perhaps a virus or herx. We are problem solving a rash right now with our Dr. this way. -Wendy Edited January 28, 2011 by SF Mom
JuliaFaith Posted January 28, 2011 Author Report Posted January 28, 2011 [ take a picture Thank you for this idea - did this right after reading your response. Take care.

We have to be careful not to get any steroidal creams as they are bad for micoplasma. Thank you for your ideas. Best wishes your way!
cobbiemommy Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 This was an odd thing that happened to DS back when we thought it was PANDAs. At first, I kept thinking he had marker on his chin and kept telling him to go wipe his face. It went away quickly. Teresa
sf_mom Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 We are using Bactroban ointment and it is prescribed by our LLMD but Neosporin ointment would work too.

My ds had a bandanna wrapped around his face yesterday, he was so embarrassed about it. We will hope for the best. Take care. Julia
