Megs_Mom Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 Thinking of you both this morning. Hope they are helping.
browneyesmom Posted December 24, 2010 Author Report Posted December 24, 2010 Good morning & thanks! Yes, she is receiving IVIg... I posted about it yesterday, I think it was... it's a thread about IVIg. She had her first infusion late last night and into this morning. She'll have another today.
philamom Posted December 24, 2010 Report Posted December 24, 2010 Sending prayers your way!!! Don't forget to hydrate. In my daughter's case, they administered a bag of fluids during the infusion each day. It really helped minimize the side effects.
browneyesmom Posted December 24, 2010 Author Report Posted December 24, 2010 Thanks so much!! lol - oh, she is loaded plenty with fluids! They started her on NS soon after arrival in ER a couple of days ago. Once we were admitted, she's been on fluids ever since we arrived & is voiding... um, really well! lol Here, they give D5 prior to the IVIg as well as immediately after. She remains on D5 with 20% otherwise. Funny you mention fluids as it is a struggle getting her to drink enough at home since her throat hurts most of the time... here, I get my way about keeping her hydrated! haha It is so nice to have someone else handle that and her meds for a while! She has a little more color in her face this morning.
