When I came home tonight my dd had a slight fever of 99, now it's gone. She is having severe burning in her eyes and she is very sensitive to light, even the TV is to bright. She is not on abx right now so it's not a side effect to that but what is it?

Has anyone dealt with this?

Thanks

Not sure if this will help but..Dr.said it is a sinus issue with eye sensitivity. We saw the immunologist yesterday and she put danny on med said he has a sinus infection again. His eyes have been driving him crazy allergys and now sinus. He has been wearing sunglasses everywhere Try that ..Oh and allergy eye drops help too.AND TRY GIVING HIM CARROTS.. That always helps distract him.

I'm not sure about the burning sensation, but ever since I brought my youngest home from the hospital he complains about the light being too bright (as an infant right out of the hospital he would cover his eyes!). It is a common symptom of chiari malformation (which he has) and I have heard that it is also a symptom of lyme. Then again, could just be plain old sensory issues...

Not to scare you but I would certainly make sure there was no chance it was viral or bacterial meningitis ( light sensitivity is a sure sign symptom). Worth a pediatrician visit tomorrow but if your child seems more ill this evening please make sure you call your Dr.

If it is the PANDAS, yes, my dd8 had horrible sensitivity to light when in an exacerbation.

Good luck:)

At our house it turned out to be lyme. I am very senstive to light. I agree with ruling out other infections.
