sf_mom Posted October 22, 2010 Report Share Posted October 22, 2010 (edited) I concur with Mom2Alex... a good LLMD is required for Lyme evaluation and proper testing. Our children's lyme results were also negative. We did not unravel Lyme Disease until DNA testing was done via the urine. In our case, because it was congenital Lyme (got it from me while pregnant) their bodies do not recognize the bacteria as foreign and therefore don't make appropriate antibodies. Lyme standardized testing is antibody testing so any test that looks at antibodies would have been negative for our family. Additionally, they can pull fluids from the knee to test for Lyme/co-infections but you'd need the right Dr. to help.
