kimballot Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 Ok... it started on Monday with a dry cough... Tuesday was a more productive cough and fever, laryngitis, and need for sleep... Wed. chest pain started. Today (Thursday) heaviness in chest. Called doc and doc prescribed zith without even looking. Says walking pneumonia is going around. Yikes... its me! I'm the Myoplasma Momma!! Thanks to this forum, though, I've stayed away from my son since Monday, and I started on zith today (last year I would have "toughed it out" for a couple of weeks before breaking down and calling). Also got rid of all the hand towels in the house and switched to paper towels. Been doing takeout for dinner so I'm not breathing on their cooking (of course the kid at the restaurant could have mycoplasma plus!). My son is still on 500 mg, zith daily - we were planning to lower that to 250 but I'm thinking we'll wait a couple of weeks. Does anyone else have any suggestions???
Chemar Posted October 22, 2010 Report Posted October 22, 2010 no suggestions but wanted to post the link to this article that came in my Journal Watch newsletter http://general-medicine.jwatch.org/cgi/content/full/2010/1021/1?q=etoc_jwgenmed
