caren
I have been blinking since a child and no one can tell me why? I get severe pain behind the eyes and constant blinking. I have been looking for a cure or an answer for 25years. I am 31 years old and have suffered since I can remember. I am asking anyone for advise? Please let me know if you too suffer from blinking and maybe we can help each other! Thanks, Caren
Guest Henry
Hi Caren I am also 31 and suffer from the same annoying habbit, do you tend to take short shallow breaths, sometimes even holding your breath. With me it goes away somtimes and then comes back, and the more I think about it the worse it gets. What I have read is that it can be anxiety related, do you often get stressed out and worry alot? Chemar
Hi Caren and Henry eye blinking can have many root causes, from TS tics thru to allergies(diet or environmental) or the psychosomatic issues that Henry has mentioned. One person I know of was actually reacting to ingrowing eyelashes that were irritating her eyes. You may want to check with your doctor on whether you could benefit from L-carnitine, which is an amino acid that many people have found very helpful for eye blinking. Guest henry
Thanks Chemar Is eye blinkg a common result of aniety and stress? I find if I sometimes forget about it, it goes away even for weeks. Could this be something more serious than stress and anxiety. like tourettes? I have always been a stutterer, which probably fuels my stress levels.
