I really need to do something about dd10. She is wrapped in worries all day. She is still managing to get her school work done, even her Math all on her own, but she is worried about EVERYTHING. And it really makes her suffer, she cries a lot (not as in crying out loud but more often during the day over little things). She is worried about water, and even though she's been ok at the pool, she could not bring herself to do swim team, and she tells me it even freaks her out to see other people swimming? She is super scrupulous these days, apologizing for everything and anything. Sometimes she tells me she thinks she's loosing her mind. It is heart-wrenching for me so see her suffer so. She is a bit dramatic to begin with but these if way beyond that. My oldest (now 14) also went through a scrupulous period but he outgrew it, although it took some time, so maybe it's just the age?

She did have a tic bite in the spring. But there are no other physical symptoms, just the mental stuff.

What would you all do? Check for Lyme first (was already tested through Labcorp, negative), or consider PANDAS (but there are no tics, no frequent urination -although she was wiping a lot right after she had an ear infection-, no OCD that I can see). We are in the midst of a lot of stuff for PANDAS ds the next couple of weeks.

I am thinking tomorrow I will make an appointment with Dr. Latimer, and also with an LLMD. It'll probably be a month before either has an opening.

For now, I am borrowing some of DS's abxs and giving her b-vitamins, etc, to see if it helps at all, but today right after taking the breakfast stuff she's telling me her tummy hurts!

I am SO tired of this!

Another bad day for dd... she worries about EVERYTHING, she cries about the fact that she worries, and the she cries because she cries. I am doing my best to keep my cool, but I'm really at the end of my rope. I am on the war-path trying to find a LLMD around here that sees children, but I think I'm going to go ahead and make an appointment with Dr. Latimer just in case. At least we've "been through the ringer" before, and hopefully we are catching it early.

Sorry to hear your dd is having a rough time (and consequently you too). I'm in VA also and LLMDs seem to be few and far between here, especially ones that take insurance. We just went to see my son's LLMD a couple days ago (who does take insurance) and he said is retiring at the end of the month. Ugh! Fortunately, we had been on the waiting list for another LLMD in PA (who does NOT take insurance) and we have an appt next week. I just really wanted to have another closer one to work with as well.

I have the names of a few in VA, but I think only 1 of them take insurance and I'm not sure if she takes kids. I tried to get my son in to see her and her office told me she didn't. However, my son was only 5 at the time. Since your DD is older, perhaps they might. I can PM you the names if you'd like.

Will do! We got in a little sooner than expected due to a cancellation in her schedule.

Yes, please do pm me! I found an pediatric infectious disease specialist who treats Lyme and is in-network. I don't know that I would call him an LLMD but it's a start. I've ordered to Igenex kits to have on hand.
