  1. My son, who is 10, has been on Bonnie's supplements for over one year. I have noticed a decrease in his tics of about 50% since starting the supplements. One other tremendous benefit he has experienced from the vitamins is his concentration ability increased. Prior to the supplements, he was bringing home about 2 hours of homework each day because he couldn't focus enough in class to finish daily assignments. Within one week of starting the vitamins, he was finishing all of his work in class. His teacher thought I started him on medication due to the tremendous improvement. She was shocked when I told her that the change was due to vitamins.
  2. My son has been using the Kirkman Glutathione lotion for almost two months. We have not had any adverse allergic or detox reactions. I did want to mention that our doctor told us to apply the lotion on a different area each night to avoid causing a rash. I have alternated arms and thighs. I applied it to his back one night and he said it burned, so we didn't make that mistake again .
  3. Claire, I had read that oral supplementation with glutathione was ineffective. An article I read stated "Oral glutathione supplements, are virtually ineffective, since glutathione is a protein and is digested in the stomach before reaching the blood stream or tissues of the body." Our doctor said to apply the lotion in a different area of his body each night. She said that in a few cases it has caused a rash in the area where applied. We have not experienced that, thankfully. I have applied it on his arms and thighs with no problems. I applied it to his back one night and he said it burned (slightly) for a while. We won't do that again. Since starting the glutathione, he has been having a harder time concentrating in school. I am wondering if that is a sign that the glutathione is working and that his body is starting to purge some toxins. We also started him on the glutamine at the same time, so two factors could be involved. I'll let you know how it goes in a few weeks. Layne
  4. Claire, Thank you for the information on Glutathione. The articles were very interesting reading! I think there is definitately a correlation between our kids issues and the autism issues. We just got the results of my son's Spectracell test back. The test showed he was deficient in pantothenate (B5), glutamine and glutathione . He still tested low in these even though he has been on Bonnie's vitamins, digestive enzymes and probiotics for about 3 months. His doctor put him on Reduced L-Glutathione Lotion (1 gram = 180 mg) from Kirkman Labs. Have you read any feedback from anyone who has used the lotion? We have only been using it for 3 days, so I haven't noticed any changes yet. We are supposed to use it twice a day, but I always start a half dose for about a week to ensure no negative side effects before I go to full dose. Layne
  5. I saw Jeff interviewed on several shows. His TS prior to the surgery was the most severe I have ever seen. He had to use a child's sippy cup to drink. He couldn't complete an entire sentence due to his vocal tics. He couldn't even work. He had exhausted all of the prescription medications available and none of them helped him anymore. He never mentioned trying any of the natural remedies that are discussed on this forum. He said on the interview that he found this procedure on the internet. It was being used in another country (Europe?) with success on TS patients, but had not been approved to be used for TS here in the states. The surgery was being done here in the US for parkinsons patients, just not for TS patients. He found a doctor who was willing to try this on him based upon the success in other countries. It worked! He was virtually tic free. I haven't heard anything about him lately to know if the he is still tic free. This procedure is used on patients with Parkinson's disease to help control their tremors. I think that if Jeff and others who have this surgery continue to do well, it will be a good "last resort" treatment for TS patients who do not find help with any non-invasive treatments. He said that prior to the surgery, he and his wife had decided that he was so unhappy and incapacitated with the TS, they asked God to take his life while in surgery if it was not going to provide him any relief. After the surgery, things were going so well, they had decided to have a baby. His wife was a few months pregnant when I last saw them intereviewed.
  6. I have wondered the same thing you are asking. My son is 10 and there is also an odor in his room in the mornings. I wash his bed linens every week to try and help, but the odor still lingers. I have searched his room from top to bottom to make sure there wasn't a dirty sock or foul smelling shoes causing this. I know that sometimes he puts too much cover on at night and wakes up sweating, so I have been wondering if his body is excreting something in his sweat that is causing the odor. This smell is not in my 7 year old son's room, even though he is also very hot natured and sweats sometimes at night. I am wondering if there is something chemically different in my 10 year olds body due to his TS/ADD (my 7 year old does not have any of these issues). We have a doctor appt on the 31st and that was one of the things I wanted to ask her. I would be interested if other parents on this forum have also noticed this.
  7. Just wanted to let everyone know that if you are looking for an LCD TV for your youngster, Best Buy has a Samsung SyncMaster 510mp, 15", TV/Computer Monitor on sale for $280.00. You actually have to purchase the TV for $349.99 and then send in $70.00 worth of rebates. When I purchased it, the sign said the sale ended on 1/1/05. I think this is similar to the same TV which Claire has mentioned in her posts. We purchased one for our son and are very pleased with it. You can use it as a stand alone TV or hook it up to a computer and use it for both. The only difference is that the speakers do not have the same quality of sound as a regular TV, but it is still not bad.
  8. Hi Connor, Steven and Daniel, Yes I do have a little brother he is 7 years old. I kind of like school. My school does not go on overnight field trips. Do you like Yugioh or Pokemon? I love collecting the cards and dueling other kids. My tics are better since I started taking vitamins. I think I started ticcing in Kindergarten, but my Mom and Dad did not notice until I was in second grade when they were worse. My Mom gives me Bonnie's vitamins. They have helped with my tics and attention. I have taken them for over 2 months. They help me finish my work in school. I am in the 4th grade. The work has been much harder this year than in the past. My favorite subjects in school are exactly the same as yours Daniel! Do you think that 4th grade is harder than last year? I do! Do you go to speech class? My best friends are Cameron, Loomis, Shane, Lane and Tower. My soccer team won first place and we are going to the Tournament of Champions next month! Do you play a sport? Which one do you play? My team is called "the Heat"! We are really good at soccer. I hope to hear from all of you again! It is good to talk to other kids who understand what tics are like. Hope to hear from you, Dylan
