  1. I feel like I’m on the same boat as you! His triggers are definitely something in those fields because when he didn’t have soccer practice for 2 weeks straight, no tics, and if he did they were so minimal I did not notice. Then when he’s on the field again bam he’ll tic until he gets home. I blamed it on excitement, but Halloween was super fun and exciting, we went trick or treating twice in one day, he had the best time and still did not tic. So it’s either the field, or nerves (he says he doesn’t get nervous during soccer)
  2. Hi Atex, what have you guys been doing to try and stay tic free, I could really use some advice.
  3. I agree, because honestly the rest of the week he barely even ticced. So it’s something in the soccer field for sure! Honestly it just makes me feel bad, like something that’s supposed to be fun, I’m not looking forward to it anymore because he’ll be coughing and ticcing up a storm.
  4. Also, I’m sorry I forgot to mention, he has mildly obstructive sleep apnea, and enlarged tonsils and adenoids, and is scheduled to have them both removed early next year.
  5. I would also like to add that since his tic attack started yesterday he came home from school ticcing more than usual today. I took him out to our backyard to see if outside would trigger the tics the same as yesterday and it has not, he only ticced about 3 one second facial tic. We stayed out an hour same as his practice yesterday. He was running laps and played for a bit but I don’t think he got as excited as he did yesterday. He was a lot more calm and less ticky..
  6. He’s always had bad allergies this time of year. Could it be general outdoor allergies triggering it? But honestly when he plays in our backyard he doesn’t tic at all. So maybe it’s something on those fields for sure!
  7. Hi Sheila, yes at home when he’s playing a fun game he’ll tic once or twice! And that’s basically it, not as bad as when he’s outdoors that’s for sure!! I don’t know if maybe soccer excites him just a little bit more I’m not sure. Last year he did the back allergy test, and it didn’t come up with anything but I know his cough gets so bad when he’s outside and after it rains, he gets that cough every October since he was 4. He did a blood allergy test about 2 years ago and it had I think 25% chance hes allergic to milk, but he never reacted to milk in a negative way. And honestly if he drinks milk and is in a calm environment at home he won’t tic maybe once or twice. It’s always outside that it’s the worst!? At the park, the fair, the school feild. Yesterdays tics were accompanied by an asthma like cough where he almost had trouble breathing!
  8. Hi guys I’m back again, so my 8 year old doesn’t tic much, like the most he’ll do is a face every few hours one and done kinda deal. But during soccer practice, his tics go off like wild! He’s head jerking, facial tics all over, chest puffing, and he’s got a cough (idk if it’s allergies or a tic) anyway I noticed he can go days with rarely ticing, then a soccer game or practice or maybe a trip to the fair and his tics go haywire, even jerks he doesn’t usually do. Now to be honest idk he could be Ticing at school and I wouldn’t know but at home he rarely ever does. My first question any advice on how to help him not tic during practice of a soccer game? Second question is that I heard sports help the kids from ticing. Idk any advice?
  9. Hi Irene, has there been anything that has helped your daughter? My son loves his food, it’s literally his favorite thing, going out to eat, buying fast food. Lol it really makes his day, so cutting all that would honestly break his heart. His tics are the worst when he’s anxious or excited, otherwise he barely tics. (That’s why I don’t think it’s food related) I’m right now in the wait and see period. If it gets worse, we’ll be starting the diet change.
  10. Hi what brand would you suggest? And what is a chelates magnesium taurine and how do I get it? Lol
  11. This sounds so hard! But I’m willing to try, I will try to talk to him about the candy and food they give out in school and monitor what he eats at home. How long do you think it would take until we start to see a difference, if there will be a difference?
  12. His cough tho only happens this time of year, and it’s like the kind of cough you can tell there is something bothering him. My daughter has a habit cough and it sounds nothing like his cough, her cough sounds fake. The doctor said he has post nasel drip, and swelling in his eyes and nose. So she said any cough, throat clearing, sniffing, is for sure his allergies. What can I start doing to help tame his tics? What types of vitamins, how much dosage?
  13. Hi, I’ve seen the reviews online on tic tamer and they sound too good to be true, but I was desperate so I bought it. Has anyone had any success using it? I started giving to to my son for a few days and i when I didn’t notice a difference I gave up but maybe I gave up too soon. Should I give it another chance?
  14. Hi chemar, what kind of magnesium and how much would be good for my 8 year old son? He been taking beLive magnesium gummies for two weeks now, I think I’ve been accidentally giving him the adult dosage tho with is two gummies instead of one. I haven’t seen any improvements in his tics. I thought he was improving for a few days, I was wrong they came back worse than ever.
  15. I honestly don’t know! What if his cough hasn’t been allergies/asthma. What if it’s been a tic all these years! Idk anything anymore!
