  1. I found this online for a free 30 day trial... https://home.sirius.com/sirpromosetupview.d...utm_medium=TXT# If you want to go through the trouble of setting it up...and then cancelling it...
  2. In the original post, they have two links. the first is the direct link to vote, and the second one is a link to the facebook page. Later they added the widget under "PARTNERS AND AFFILIATES" That will be prominent. The actual post has already slid down the page from all their other postings...but when I go to these types of sites, I keep scrolling down and reading the news until I hit a post that I have already seen....I am hoping that is what other's do!
  3. They added the widget on their site too! Those girls are awesome!
  4. I don't have Sirus or XM either...I'll have to get the scoop from that Mom! Unless someone else can fill us in...
  5. Has anyone done this yet? If not, I have an email ready to go...I'll send it. ~Karen Do you already have a standard type of email in place? I certainly don't mind contacting them, however it may be faster if you are already set up for it. Whatever you prefer -- let me know! ~Karen
  6. Okay....I am a Twilight freak, and a big Robert Pattinson Fan! I admit it! So, I emailed his BIGGEST fan site, and asked if they would help. I just heard from them! WHOO HOOO.....this site gets thousands of hits a day!!!
  7. This is the link to his facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=130...!/C.C.Corry
  8. I just received an email from another PANDAS mom (she doesn't post on the forum) it says: "Do you have Sirus or XM radio? Our cause for Pandas and the refresh everything vote will be mentioned tomorrow between 9-10am on sirus 102 and XM 155. They will give the web address and ask for votes. The show, "Angels on Call" has over 1 million listeners. Let's keep hoping we win this!" I asked her how, and she said: "If you don't ask, you don't get - I asked! I am obsessed with winning this thing" So, How true is that!!! Then, she sent me more details: "No, I will not be interviewed. The show's host is Mary Occhino. The whole premise of the show is that she is a psychic and she takes questions. The show is called Angels on Call. Her son is on every Thursday between 9-10 for their "Paranormal Hour". I e-mailed him via facebook and asked him to post the PANDAS grant on his web site which has over 1000 "friends". He told me that he would mention the site on the show tomorrow. "Anything for the kids" is what he told me. You can "friend" him on facebook. Christopher Corry. I think that is the correct spelling...(Deleted some personal content)...Mary Occhino is hugely popular. She is getting her own show on television this July called "Mary Knows Best". I actually only listen to the show when I am in the car in the morning dropping off the kids to school but it can be very entertaining and interesting. Yes, feel free to post this on the forum. Tell people to friend him and support the P.A.N.D.A.S link with a comment of THANK YOU! The more support the better. I e-mailed the lab and they are so thrilled!" Chris Corry posts a lot on facebook, so you have to scroll down to see his post about PANDAS! The lab she mentions at the end is Dr. Cunningham's. Thank you so much to this warrior mom for getting the word out! The times listed above are EST!
  9. Do you already have a standard type of email in place? I certainly don't mind contacting them, however it may be faster if you are already set up for it. Whatever you prefer -- let me know! ~Karen
  10. Has anyone tried to contact Univ. of Oklahoma's student media: http://www.studentmedia.ou.edu/
  11. I just had to add my two cents....Pixie Sticks!! My husband and I cringe when we hear those words...most people realize that they are pure sugar, and horrible for kids, even without health issues...What if a student was diabetic? would she have allowed a different treat? Okay, I get that pixie sticks are cheap, and most of the time, teachers are providing these things from their own pockets...but there really are so many alternatives to reward students. Of course, you do need to decide how much fight is in you...but I think if speaking to her again gets you nowhere, it may be time to start going up the chain of command... Although....three more weeks does sound so tempting. I'm actually amazed that a teacher for remedial math is not sensitive to the health issues of her students...why does she think most of them are there? He can't be the only one with a health issue!
  12. Has anyone contacted the Univ. of Oaklahoma to see what can be done about getting the word out among the students? I just went to their website, and I didn't see anything?
  13. I knew my Husband's friend would be posting a link on his blog about the Pepsi Resfresh Vote, so I asked the administrators if it was okay to post the link to the blog in case anyone wanted to leave a message of thanks. I was told it was fine as long as the blog was not too commercial or x-rated (LOL!) I thought I would start a thread where we can post links so we can leave comments at their blogs if we want. Here is the first one: http://www.ikigaiway.com/2010/helping-kids...is-p-a-n-d-a-s/ ~Karen
  14. I'm really happy you are seeing such great results...I'm hoping that it sticks!
  15. Welcome to the forum...I'm sorry that you are here. What part of the country are you from? Are your children being treated by a knowledgable PANDAS doctor? I think my daughter's case is somewhat mild...because she has so far responded really well to month-long prednisone and anitbiotics. You had said that your kids were mild. Has a doctor ever suggested a course of prednisone? ~Karen
  16. Yeah...I see now that if we vote for any of the top 10 in our category, it will be EVEN Harder to break into those slots....So I TOTALLY RECIND my idea about the top ten...okay we all have duh moments!! Sorry
  17. Okay...I think we will by most successful if we are all on the same page as far as strategy goes!
  18. I just had another idea along those lines....a lot of times fans create Facebook and Myspace pages about the celebrity....Maby if we cooridinated, and became fans too...then we could leave comments about helping kids who suffer from OCD...These sites are not officially approved by the celebrity but a lot of times there are many "fans"
  19. All we need to do is make it into the top 10....So if we were to go the top few in our category (50K) and vote...let them know we are keeping them there....ask that they help pull us up by voting for us too? Basically, we would be riding on their success.... For those who are keeping friends and family informed via posts on facebook...a way to increase your friends is to look to the right hand side under "Suggesions" there is always a new friend that is being suggested...hit "See All" and you will see many more people...I just sent out about 10 friend requests--mostly people I went to grade school/high school with. I was always a little hesitant about sending a friend request...but that person doesn't have to approve you if they don't want...
  20. I'm having a hard time writing through the tears!!! Your daughter is beautiful and brave...Thank you for that segment! Great Job!!!
  21. If you type PANDAS in the search box...the results says that we are currently ranked at 43..this has to be a mistake!
  22. We were JUST at 44 a few minutes ago.....this has to be a mistake...crossing my fingers
  23. I'm really glad you found this forum so early in your son's case. I think seeing Dr. B is a great idea. My Daughter's case was caught early too, and she has responded fully to antibiotics and prednisone. We are fortunate that we didn't need to do IVIG or PEX. That doesn't mean I won't do these procedures if needed...I'm just hoping in your son's case, it is early enough to not have to do these either....
  24. Thanks for all you replies! Oh...I have NO intention of leaving this forum....I was just curious as to what other forums were out on the web, and if they are as informative and helpful as this one. I feel truly blessed that I was able to find this forum, and as I have said before, EAMom and Diana are directly responsible for my getting in touch with Dr. Latimer so quickly last year. May 1, 2009 is when my DH and I met with our DD's pediatrician, and it was the first time I heard of the concept of antibodies from strep possilbly causing my daughter's complete behavior shift...I googled so many times, and kept only coming up with the NIH website and e-pandas.com...and I just NEEDED more information...I found this forum when I googled "strep infection and short term memory loss". It was the day after we hit a roadblock at CHOP. This forum has been a tremedous help for my sanity! Leaving this forum would be like cutting off ties with my family!!!
