  1. My son has had two high dose IVIGs and both times had lots of vomiting and a horrible headache. Both times the vomiting started at night after the second day of IVIG. I have heard that slowing down the infusion can help with these side effects, as well as drinking lots of water days before IVIG, during, and after. We have done these things, but my son still gets these awful side effects.
  2. My son exhibited most of the symptoms you describe at his onset of PANDAS. I remember Dr. K telling me ( 2 years ago) that the stomach aches were more than likely anxiety. I couldn't get him to leave the house or do simple tasks either, like get him dressed or brush teeth. We also had repeated words and actions, intense rage, baby talk, and dilated pupils. He also would no longer sleep in his own bed. If I were you, I would definitlely consider PANDAS.
  3. My husband and I both voted!! And P.Mom, I know the ratings will drive you crazy....I have been watching them, too, and noticed they changed quickly! I will work on getting more family and friends of mine to vote! A BIG THANK YOU for all of your hard work!!!
  4. Well that's good! Thanks for taking care of that! Susan
  5. Hi Michelle, I am the one who sees Dr. McMillan. She is my son's and daughter's pediatrician. My son was her patient at the onset of PANDAS in early 2008 and the first place I turned to for help was my pediatrician. She is not a PANDAS expert. She worked with me because my son was her patient at the time of onset. She immediately referred me to a Psychiatrist and then the Psychiatrist made the possible PANDAS diagnosis and referred us to and Infectious Disease Doctor who confirmed the PANDAS diagnosis. From that point, I continued to search for help for my son and found Dr. K on this forum. My son received IVIG 5 months after onset of PANDAS with Dr. K. I now just see Dr. McMillan for sick visits, well checks and keep her completely up to date on my son's condition. I also got a referral from her for an Allergist and Immunologist because I am still trying to put all the pieces together and heal my son. I want you to know she is NOT a PANDAS EXPERT. She worked with me because my son was her patient at the time and she worked in conjunction with other doctors whom she referred me to. I know she does not want to be known as a PANDAS expert because she is not, and she will not just give out antibiotics. I just wanted to make this clear because I am the one who originally gave out her name in the first place to one person, and now I see her name posted on this forum. In all fairness to her, her name should not be on the list and should be removed. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I am happy to help you in any way I can. Susan
