Both my sons are positive 41 band....so am I.....so is my brother. What gives? (nobody else tested)

karmen, In you first post you said you had a bad strep infection last week....then in your second post you said you have not had a problem with strep. Your son may have not have had strep...but, you did, so, he was exposed. That is a BIG problem and will cause an increase in your PANDAS child. Christmas 2008 my younger son started to increase in symptoms and we didn't know why......until my husband took a rapid strep test because he had been having a headache (we have the test strips at home) and came back positive. I increased my sons antibiotic and my husband went straight to the hospital (it was late, docs closed..wasn't about to wait until the morning) ...anyway, husband got on antibiotics immediately, and, with the increased dose in my son, symptoms disappeared the next day. So, just so you know....mere exposure to strep can/will cause an increase of PANDAS symptoms.

Vickie....Synergy??? Now I am really confused...... To all!! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to this project. It has turned out to be quite more involved than we bargained for, but, I'd say, at #21 out of hundreds...we PANDAS supporters are doing a fantastic job....our ranking is testament to the strength and commitment that lies behind our cause. Whatever the turn out...I am quite proud of all of us!!! We are almost there.....don't lose steam! Hang in there! Kelly

Yes, good morning. Vickie made a good list. I just want to stress that we MUST vote for Skip, Tacoma Swim Club, and Jett Foundation.....Please!! Some other causes ahead of us may start to lose steam....they may quit putting in the extra effort it taks to win becuase they may figure it is too late. It is not too late! WE MUST NOT STOP!!! Bmom...I doubt it is a herx reaction being he has been on so many antibiotics....I could be wrong, though. I would bet it is a reaction to somethig viral (LOTS of stuff going on now....) or, exposure to strep....strep is also rampant now. Remember, sometimes the only indication of illness/exposure is an increase in PANDAS symptoms.

My kids didn't have any reaction to Biaxin. I wonder if you should get him checked for strep?

My older son has/had a throat clearing tic...it surfaces with allergies/illness...it is definitely a tic...(for him). He has been checked for asthma...no asthma. You can tell the difference...is it a mucos clearing thing that happens occasionally, or, a just sort of throat clearing noice that happens quite frequently? (the latter being a tic)

My computer is SO VERY SLOW with the comments....I really don't have time to comment on everything. But, I am sending personal e-mails to let them know we are voting!
