I posted a few days ago about my ds who is 9 weeks post ivig tomorrow. Today he stayed home with Dad while I went to work. Dad was in the office talking to his boss on the phone and DS wanted breakfast. Dad kept telling DS to wait a few minutes. I guess DS didnt want to wait.

He went upstairs and made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, he peeled the banana and took off the brown part and got himself a glass of water.(this is what he usually eats for breakfast) He went back in the basement, got the blanket out and sat down and started to eat his breakfast. Dad came out of the office and was amazed!! He called me at work and I was screaming at my desk! If you remember my post from a few days ago, he rode his bike without training wheels for the 1st time on Monday. Yesterday I took him to the bike trail and he jumped on and took off. He stopped and told me that he could feel the wind!!!!! :)

Dad met us at the trail and was so proud. DS drove home with Dad and when I got home he had his bike out of the car and was riding in the driveway and then saw me and waved me in as if to say I can maneuver this thing around your car. Then I asked if he wanted to ride down our somewhat steep long street. He wasnt sure but did it!!! We went around the neighborhood on many hills and on the way back he made it down the hill and into our driveway and into the garage!!!!

I'm just floored. We always knew he could do it. My son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at the age of 5. If he ever had sudden onset it was at a very young age. There was always something we could not put a finger on and having only one child we had nothing to compare it to. Dr K told us that PDD-NOS is a garbage diagnosis though he wasnt sure if our son had a comorbid condition of Aspergers complicated by PANDAS. We still dont know. But I'll take whatever I'm seeing now and know that if things start to go south, there is hope and a doctor that can help us.

I have been reading the challenges that everyone is facing on this forum and I pray for your children everyday and I am proud to be part of this group of dedicated, loving parents.

I am so happy for your family! I remember when my dd first got on a bike after so long not being able to ride. She had learned to ride very early with no training wheels...then pandas struck and she just could not do it anymore for the longest time and after IVIg (took her a year to get the coordination back though) she jumped on the bike and took off. I was feeling just like you are. Every day is a gift.
