My ds12 has tested neg. on everything except Dr. Cunningham's report. He has had a few OCD/tics, headaches, muscle aches, stomaches, fatigue etc. for 5 months now with no relief.

We have tried predisone and 2-week anti-biotics since his initial exacerbation in March. We are currently trying a 30-day Biaxin and may extend it another week along with another 5-day predisone burst (3rd one). His lyme test cam back neg too (the one with all the bands - not igenex though).

Nothing has helped his symptoms.

We have a new insurance (CIGNA) and am wondering if we have any chance at all of having IVIG covered with no other neg. test results?

Anyone have any information to pass along? It would be greatly appreciated!

We have Cigna and have not had any problems. They have covered everything. We have finally met 100 percent so now evryhting is covered innetwork at 100 percent. Belive it or not, our IVIG's are also covered. I have done absolutely nothing to justify why my son needed to have an IVIG. Our doctor and the insurance lady at Coram have taken care of everything. The coordinator actullay told me she has friends in low places. Im not sure what she means by that but I am very grateful for those friends lol. So many parents on this forum have struggled with insurance and as for me, I have had no problems whatsoever with Cigna. I hope the same goes with you. It is one less thing I have had to deal with.

I have to say CIGNA has been very good to us too! We have not tried to get IVIG yet, but have had lots of out-of-network stuff and they have covered everything at 70% (I guess it depends on your plan), and for Dr. Latimer they have covered almost 100%. All you have to do is fill out a form (I believe it's on the website) and attach the receipt and in a few weeks you get the check, no questions asked. Thank God for good insurance! Keep it up, CIGNA!

What is Coram?

Yea.Thats what we do. I have been fortunate that all my sons doctors have been in network. We live in a very rural area so we have to travel to have a cat scan or an eeg done. Anyway, most doctors, if out of network will bill as in network because of the lack of providers. This has probably been the only advantage we have had of living in a rural area.

What is Coram?

Coram is an infusion suite. It is about 10,000 cheaper than having an IVIG done at the hospital. They were wonderful to us.

Thank you for all your input on insurance. Never in a million years would I have guessed that talking about insurance would bring tears to my eyes. ;)

This is our 4th insurance in as many months so my head is rolling with insurance stuff.

Best wishes to you all and your children.
